If DMC story is true, i'm sad about that. But it appears he's BFF with Paul. While i'm not a full scholar of the Atlanta Hawks, tell me why any young player would go there rather than stay with the Jazz?
1. You don't like Utah
2. You got more money
3. You don't like Corbin
4. You like Paul Millsap

It doesn't appear becuase the situation for winning is better.

Because 2 years and 5 million is better than the 1 year and X amount of dollars the Jazz were probably offering. Good for DMC. It's nice to see that he is getting paid.

Good luck to both Millsap and Junkyard Dog. The jazz needed to move on from those contracts. I'm happy with all of today's developments, even though I'm sad to see DMC go. Just a fun guy to root for.

No, that's not permitted. The salary can only change by a predetermined amount from year to year (20% or 25% I think, but I'm not looking it up right now)

So I guess Paul did want to leave. He turned down the extension and now only get a two year deal. How is he going to start on Atlanta?

1. The extension was for about $25mm over 3 seasons. There's still a decent chance Millsap's next contract will start at $6mm+, thus earning him more money over the years of the extension.

2. He'll start at the 4 next to Horford at the 5, presumably.
