The church removed them in the 1990s I believe. Wonder if some of the mormons calling posting of this video offensive supported the showing of the Mohammad video that caused all the ruckus in the middle east? I certainly remembering a lot of republicans defending the posting because of freedom of speech issues.
That's true of pretty much any group that demands a high degree of loyalty. ex-JWs are far more bitter than ex-Mormons, AFAICT. then there are ex-ESTers, ex-Randians, etc.
I agree that the video shouldn't be posted but I do see some hypocrisy in why it shouldn't. I think people should try to respect everyone's belief even if their belief is not to believe.
... and if it makes everyone feel better, Kentuckians are criticized from coast to coast.
Okay so he did fire it and hit people but he was retaliating form being fired at and after they killed Hyrum.
This would be an interesting poll to see if people knew that Joseph Smith shot at people in Jail. I think most knew he had a gun but not that he fired it. I could be wrong though.
I think the problem with Joseph Smith history (along with all history especially religous) is that non-LDS dont really except LDS history since they have an angle in telling their side of the story. On the other hand other historians at the time seemed to be anti-mormon and they also are telling the story the way they want people to see it. You dont really have many neutral accounts of what happened. People have a reason to tell their version of a story.
I would like to ask an off-topic question about the LDS church, and I don't want to start another thread and get accused of stirring **** up again.
I know someone who joined the church last year and found it not to be to her liking. She looked up information of how to officially leave, and she was told that she could send a letter asking for her name to be removed from their member's records. The source warns however that she could be excommunicated instead of simply removed. She's wondering about the differences between the two. Why would it matter whether she got excommunicated if all she wants is to leave the church?
Really? How much doubt did you have before that statement?Shows how uninformed you are. To bad that does not stop you from talking. Thank you for removing doubt.
Why would I? Who the hell cares? You obviously I guess. There's gotta be a million reasons. That doesn't matter but what does matter is that ex-Mormons are some bitter MFs as you can see in this thread and on this board and in general anyway. You ever stop to wonder why so many exmormons are bitter about the church?

Curiosity and interest my ***.
Thanks, Thread Nazi.I learned from Ecclesiastes that there is a time for everything.
The time for you to stop posting in this thread has come.
TIA
When I picture, in my mind's eye, the anti-Mormon that sucks (and there are many), it's the ones that take every opportunity big or small to take a shot at the Church gladly. With a half-smile/smirk they take something otherwise insignificant and try to turn it into the most damning thing possible for the Church in an effort to make it look bad. And hey if that's your bag then fine. More power to you you miserable *******. But way too many high-horsed, bitter antis in here trying to claim innocence when it is clearly obvious they are not here to discuss or debate. They are here to revile. When I picture, in my mind's eye, the Mormon that gets on my nerves (and there have been only about 3 I have met in the last 7 years), it's the one that takes something/anything/everything small that could possibly be considered persecution and makes it into a mountain, gladly. With a half-smile/smirk they accept something otherwise insignificant as heaping piles of persecution and get puffed up about this being further evidence of the one true church.
Said the sissy. If Conan is so mormon maybe he should take his religions advice and be less of a bitch and more of a missionary.

Have some intellectual honesty about your intentions here, Fellas. And don't be such nancies when someone calls you out on it.
I agree with that. Definitely a lot of wrath being directed my way and a soft answer maybe gets those guys to relax. But I've always admitted my faults here and that's a big one. I have zero finesse I just call it like I see it. It hurts peoples' feelings. Some say that's why I'm a good teacher. But obviously it doesn't make for good message board chat. Or being a good Mormon example. But I've never claimed I was anyway.
