What's new

Moving down and McDermott (two separate threads, really)

How about the trade that sent Aldridge (2nd pick by Bulls) for Thomas (4th pick by POR)? Pretty sure where were others as well just too lazy to look them up right now.

What about trading OJ Mayo for Love?

I really like McD and think he will be in the league a long time. I don't think I'd trade down in this draft from 5 for him though.

11 days away and I'm still not certain exactly who I prefer at 5 or 23.

What he said.

Also Marbury #4 for Ray Allen #5 and a future first was a great trade.

Penny Hardaway and three future firsts for Chris Webber turned out pretty good.

Mavs trade #6 pick Tractor Traylor for #9 pick Dirk and #19 pick in that draft.

Obviously every draft is different, if it's pretty flat then trading back makes sense.

However I think this draft is top heavy, and there is a chance of grabbing franchise changing talent at #5. I wouldn't even compare the talent at #5 to McDermott.

At 5 I really think it is down to three players, Exum, Gordon, and Vonleh.

At 23 who knows it could go anywhere.

McDermott is a decent/good player, but potential wise he's not even in the same league as the likes of Exum or Gordon.

Go big or go home.

Say a team like Milwaukee really thinks there isn't much difference between Jabari and Exum, and knows the Jazz really want Jabari then the obvious thing to do would be to trade down.

If the Jazz really like McBuckets or Stauskas but know #5 is to high for them and don't seem intrigued by just one guy at the top then trading back with Charlotte for #9, #24, and a future-first would make sense.

Don't see that happening, but that obviously is a situation where you would trade down.
