Moving down and McDermott (two separate threads, really)

If Exum is on the board at #5, I can see trading down to Boston for the #6 and #17. That let's you select Gordon and perhaps pair the #17 and #23 to get into the early teens to snag your shooter. There is risk there because most of the prospects on the late teens are PGs and SFs.

Obviously every draft is different, if it's pretty flat then trading back makes sense.

However I think this draft is top heavy, and there is a chance of grabbing franchise changing talent at #5. I wouldn't even compare the talent at #5 to McDermott.

If you read my post you'll see I was referring to Gordon and that I don't think we need to take him at 5 but can trade down. McDermott is a separate issue (see thread title and first sentence of post).

Yah, but the OP wanted us to trade down from the likes of Gordon/Exum to McDermott... no thanks.

I didn't say that at all. I said trade down for someone like Gordon if he's our target.

Holy **** I would be so down with this!!!!!!!!!!

Led his team to the finals (Trey, Hayward), seems like someone they would like, though his foot issue is somewhat of a concern and they haven't worked him out. They could probably get some kind of asset by trading down...
