Noah Vonleh. Why???

Vonleh's Indiana team was terrible. Their pg's couldn't get the ball to him efficiently and it was frustrated watching him. However, Vonleh is only 18 years old, has quick feet, crazy huge hands and long arms. I think he could play the stretch 4 and still play good defense. He is going to take a while to develop, but I think he would be a great pick at 5.

Vonleh's best comparison is Favors. Take a look at Derrick's college stats: https://statsheet.com/mcb/players/player/georgia-tech/derrick-favors

Both are drafted on potential: very young bigs (both turn 19 right after draft), extremely athletic, had ok seasons for their clubs with similar stats without making much difference in team's performance nor helping their teams do well. Volneh seems to have good outside shooting ability, which might (or might not) be developed into a weapon, and Favors is a little bigger and better shot blocker. I think there is a good probability Noah will become a solid starting PF/C in NBA, bringing athleticism and defense, which is very important, but not sure it is very likely he will be a star difference maker. Probably a solid #5 pick, but nothing to get overly excited about, especially since we already have Favors on the roster.

How many threes did Derrick hit in college?

I'm sorry I don't see Bosh. I see Lamarcus Aldridge. I think he has a similar game with bigger (potentially better?) hands.

They play nothing alike. Almost as different styles of players as they could be given some of their similar physical attributes.

(Vonleh doesn't have good hands, Favors did, Favors showed a real knack for being a defensive anchor and using his athleticism in that regard, Vonleh doesn't, Vonleh is strong in the lower body and works in the post, Favors didn't and still really hasn't, Vonleh is comfortable as a jump-shooter, Favors wasn't and still isn't, Vonleh can be susceptible to trying to do too much and turning the ball over, Favors didn't and really doesn't).

Part of the reason getting Vonleh doesn't excite me is cus I feel like we already have what he offers in Kanter. Get AG, Wigg or Parker.

Noah's toolbox is very versatile, and he's learning at a fast speed to implement it in games(NOt EMbiid'ish development, but 2nd fastest of top10 prospects)

Agreed. I was trying to point out the fact both were not difference makers at NCAA at the same age when they played there, and hence are drafted largely based on athleticism and size without actually proving anything in NCAA in spite of playing a year. Solid prospect, no doubt, but I am not overly excited about his chances of becoming a star we need to lead this team going forward.

Vonleh isn't decent right now. He has very mixed results, but he has upside to become a good defender. Not DPOY, but good.

Bruh if im swinging for the fences in this draft, heres what im doing;

Trading down, like 2 times.

5 for 7 and next years first rounder unprotected from the Lakers.

7 for 14, 18 and 50

Rodney Hood, Adreian Payne, PJ Hairston, Walter Tavares(Stash), Josh Huestis.

Trey - F/A - Garrett
Burks - Hairston
Hayward - Hood - Huestis
Kanter - Payne - Evans
Favors - Gobert

and the Lakers pick next year...

Lakers already owe that pick. they also owe the one 2 years after that. It would have to be a 2019, by which time they should def be back in playoffs.
