Why do you think I'm a blind supporter? Because the nuances of my political beliefs aren't observable over the course of ten forum posts? Have I accused you of being a blind supporter because you disagree with me? That's egotistical.

I am a Tea Partier and a 99 percenter I think both have posed reasonable grievances with the state of American political power. I think your average liberal and conservative would agree on many more issues than one would imagine. Both parties love this kind of showdown that gives them the opportunity to demonize the others base. The Tea Party is composed of blind ideologue, self righteous lying ******** who will take any dirt bag action possible to either get their way or take down the country with them. They're control freaks who deserve no respect. When your starting point is my way or the highway and we'll root for this thing to blow up, you have become terrorist-like and should be treated with the same disdain.

Tea Party is the right wing equivalent of the Communist Party USA.
 
So does anyone other then stoked or sneakers think it is good to have 2 or more parties despite the flaws? Is anyone else willing to say that it would actually be a good thing if their own party didn't control everything? More specifically, can any democrat or republican admit that bi partisan is better then one side calling all the shots? I'm just not seeing that. I think I see this more from the democrat side, that they want everything controlled by democrats, and less so from republicans right now. Maybe it is because the republican party is severely disjointed right now, so they are being forced to be more humble, for lack of a better word, but it sure seems like the democrats generally smell blood in the water and are going in for the kill.

I guess I am trying to gauge the vibe I have been sensing in this conversation. So I'll just ask outright. Who thinks the country would be better off firmly under the control of one party from now on, and why, and who believes otherwise?

I did not mean you specifically. Should have said "when a person" instead of "when you". Apologies.
 
Is anyone willing to consider that if the provision to force the ACA on all Americans had been removed before it ever went to the supreme court it would have passed with no other major hurdles?

You already have my stance but I think disenting voices are always good. I truly believe that neither the Dems nor Repubs truly represent America. America is centrist. Not conservative or liberal.
 
Within each of those umbrellas ('Dem' and 'Pub') you'll find people with common general beliefs but nuanced beliefs amongst them. Then once one party's belief becomes the norm the nuances that once existed become more pronounced and new parties are born. A dramatic example of this is pro v. anti abolitionism that existed back o the day. There will never be one party.

That didn't really answer the question. Do you believe there should be one party in control of everything?

I don't like a one party system but I like it when my party is in power. How's that? But we all understand the importance of dissent. And you never know when you'll hear something new you like.
 
I just think its a ridiculous insinuation in the first place that because someone's a passionate xxxx they must want one party. Shouldn't even have to explain this

To be honest I am done with either party being in power. Neither one gives a damn about me, my concerns or struggles. They no longer represent the American people. They are a disgusting disgrace.

When all you see is support for one party and attacks on the other no matter what from a person over and over it is a reasonable assumption/question. (general statement).
 
I definitely feel that. I can totally relate to that.

Wow. I love responses like this, when it was the Democrats who threatened to filibuster Bush's SC appointees, starting all this "our way or no way" crap.

It's not about the right or the left, you illiterate dolt. It's about you Tea Baggers latching onto the republican party platform to perform your economic terrorism on the United States. Get the hell out of our party and go form your own for anarchists. The rest of us have a job to do on capitol hill.

Let me get this straight.

Obama runs for President in 2008 (in part) on Obamacare.

Obama gets elected.

Obama gets Obamacare passed and signed into law

Obamacare upheld by Supreme Court.

Obama gets re-elected.

House will not pass budget that doesn't undermine Obamacare. Instead shuts down government.

Obamacare may very well be a disaster - unlike most people I don't have a crystal ball. But at this point can't the right acknowledge the fact that the people have spoken on this issue? The answer of course is no because the house is made up of nothing but Tea Party members and chicken **** republicans who are afraid of getting "Primaried" from the right. Either way - this is their funeral.

Partisan passed. Upheld by changing what it's considered. The commerce clause was perverted severely to justify it.
