Official Announcement! Gameface Poker Resurrection -- Saturday Apr. 23rd @7pm

La Chica Loca nearly killed my desire to play poker.

She was awful.

I agree with you. I don't understand why Dave insisted on encouraging her.

For what's it's worth, my wife ended her friendship with her because she told her not to mess with the poker game and she did it anyway. My wife is super hard core like that. No mercy.

Only one reason I refuse to piss of your wife. I'm legitimately scared of her.

I can't remember the story. What did she do?

I can't remember the story. What did she do?

Mostly she was just really loud and annoying (yelling "bitches" every time she did anything) and was playing poker but had no idea how to play poker. She'd had a little to drink and I don't think she handles her alcohol very well. Dave loved it. Bronco70, not so much... She would have probably left but Dave kept encouraging her and I think he even gave her some chips so she could keep playing.

It wasn't during the tournament, it was the after tournament cash game.

But I'm being a little dishonest. My wife didn't let her over to the house after that. A few other things happened that led my wife to cut ties with her.

Sounds annoying as **** but at the same time, I could see me myself egging her on much like Dave did.

I was kind of getting a kick out of it, but she was annoying, and it turns out a thief. She borrowed money from several co-workers that she never paid back, used her access to employee files to get the combo to the lockers and took cash from a few people, stole significant amounts of merchandise from the store she worked at and a few other things along those lines. Finding out she was a thief was really what ended my wife and her friendship, but it was already on it's way out anyway. She kept pressuring my wife to lend her money and luckily my wife wasn't interested in that at all.

Im never interested in lending money to people..... yet i still do it occasionally and pretty much always regret it.

Nice rugs! they really tie the room together.

At last count we're back at an even 20. I'm bracing myself for the game day cancellations. Hopefully it's not too many. I'm looking forward to a good game.

Nice rugs! they really tie the room together.

And entirely by chance they frame out the tables really well. Basically they let me know how much room I need around the tables so people can move around even when people are sitting at the table.

I don't consider myself particularly uptight, but I think there is a base standard of decorum one should maintain when participating in an activity that requires concentration and strategy (and people's hard earned money). I mean, we keep inviting Trout back, so it's not like it's a high standard, but La Chica Loca was way below it, and (for me) completely sucked the fun out of the room.

Well said. I would have hated that chick i bet. My own decorum may get a bit out of hand at times as im usually pretty hammered at these things but i am usually self aware enough to realize when i need to chill out and I get myself under control. Plus, im very open to people telling me to calm down and telling me im getting too rowdy when im drunk. Probably one of my best drunk guy qualities. So if im there tonight and Im annoying anybody just let me know and I will alter my behavior without any hard feelins or grudges held. Im not the type of drunk who thinks im doing no wrong and will argue with people when told that im getting out of hand.

From what I remember that cash game started out pretty well with a decent number of people at the table and it seemed like it would go for a little while. She turned it into a joke and eliminated any possibility of a serious poker game.

I don't have a problem with new players who don't know a few of the basic rules so long as they're making an effort, but she had no interest in actually playing poker. She just wanted to yell "bitches" at everyone and do **** that made absolutely no sense poker-wise.

That was pretty early on and I hope I'd deal with it a little better now than I did then.

Fish, you've never even come close to crossing the line. You're hella fun.

And yeah, as much as I like Dave and enjoy having him at the poker games, he definitely pushes the envelope in regards to behavior more than any of the other regulars. I might not mind so much because for some reason it seems like he's always on the other table.

For anyone who has never been, you'll know you're at my house because there will be a sign on the door that says "The game is downstairs. Please come inside."

I'm usually busy getting everyone bought in and assigned a seat so I can't run up and down the stairs letting people in.
