Davis only intrigues me as a defensive 4, and if that's all we're getting out of this much-heralded pick, the Jazz might as well draft Larry Sanders and trade down.
Agreed. If the goal is to get a long, defensive 4 then trade down and take Sanders.

I just found this "The No. 2 and No. 4 picks, currently held by Philadelphia and Minnesota, are said to be available...." It's a little more than half way down the page. https://www.mlive.com/pistons/index.ssf/2010/06/pistons_to_hold_individual_wor.html
But at what cost? What would Philly or Minnesota want for those picks? What would we be willing to give up that would be intriguing to them without us having to take on Brand's salary?

If you want one of those picks you have to take either Brand or Jefferson. period.
Because Love and Jefferson don't play well together, and of the two McHale prefers love.
And why do the TWolves care what a TV analyst prefers?
Is there any reason the Jazz wouldn't want Jefferson? ...maybe his number suffered having to share the frontcourt with Love but I seem to remember Jefferson being a stud.

Hassan Whiteside was a jaw-dropper in conversation, said he struggled in today's workout.
Did you catch Aldrich's "random fact" that Utah has 147,000 miles of shoreline? Kid is brilliant.
