Jazz to work out 6 draft prospects Saturday: F James Ennis (Long Beach), F Jamelle Hagins (Fla. St.), C Colton Iverson (Colo. St.) .... G Myck Kabongo (Texas), F Mike Snaer (Fla. St.) and G Nate Wolters (S. Dakota State). Jazz staff won't be available to media. Strange.

Arrived a little early for Jazz pre-draft workout today. Bumped into Jerry Sloan, who was on his way out. Must have been asked to watch ...

Players working out for Utah today include PGs Myck Kabongo (Texas) and Nate Wolters (South Dakota State). And it's "Mike," not "Mick" ...Kabongo and his family immigrated to the United States from the Congo when he was six.
Jazz staff not made available to the media, but I did see Jeff Hornacek. Wish I could ask him about Philly, Charlotte, Phoenix jobs but ...

Colton Iverson says transferring after 3 years at Minnesota for 1 year at Colorado St. was "high-risk, high-reward" strategy that paid off.

Iverson is listed as a 7-footer who weighs 255 pounds. I believe it. Legit size.

Correction: Myck Kabongo and family immigrated from the Congo to Canada when he was six. Lives in Toronto. My apologies.

Long Beach's James Ennis worked out for the Jazz. Knows Bryon Russell: "I have his number. We communicate a lot. He gives me good advice."

What did Russell tell Ennis about the Jazz? "He said they have a good team -- a good team to play for."

Utah Jazz: Workout attendees well aware of team's point guard situation desne.ws/GvcHpBK

"Utah does need a point guard. Everyone's aware of that," Texas guard Myck Kabongo said. "I'm just privileged to be here. I was excited to come out here to Utah."

Kabongo, whose first name is pronounced "Mike," was joined at Saturday's workout at the Jazz's practice facility with two other guards — South Dakota State's Nate Wolters and Florida State's Mike Snaer.

"I know John Stockton played here," Snaer said. "I know it's a great place to play. I would love to come here."

"I remember my dad was a huge Jazz fan going against the Bulls in the finals the last couple of years," Wolters added. "They were fun teams to watch."

Nate and Bongo are upper 2nd round territory, or lower 1st round. Kind of hard to say. But they're not in our range unless with maybe the 21st pick.

I like Nate's game, size, and work ethic. I'd be happy if he was our 21st, and Schroeder was our 14th. Nate might be Nash or Stockton (below the rim, but so crafty that it doesn't matter). One thing is for sure, Nate can score, and his release is getting quicker.

bongo seems like a good guy for 21. mature, good leader, position of need.

I can't really see any scenario where KOC picks Bongo over Wolters. One has had a stellar college career, one has fell on his face- not to mention getting suspended. The startling fact is they are both the same age (for a few more days anyway), but its not like Bongo is oozing with potential.

Holy Crap! I am usually all over this stuff, and this snuck up on me. Thanks for posting it.

The Jazz have been notoriously late to schedule workouts in the past. And it drove me crazy. They waited, then they had coaches, players and sometimes GM available to talk after the workouts. Lindsey is shaking things up this year. I'm feeling some excitement!!!!!

That's the other thing.
The Jazz will not be available to the media after the workouts per Luhm.

I guess they are doing 2nd round possibilities until they know where they are going to land in the lottery.

This is the advantage of having 2 firsts and a second, and STARTING THE WORKOUTS EARLY. The players and their agents still have some uncertainty about where they might get drafted. They want to work out for teams with early picks and avoid later picks. And if these guys think they are late 1st (honestly nobody knows yet where most of these guys will land) then working out for #21 Jazz is an opportunity for them.

Great Work Lindsey.

I just got back, but today I snuck into the ZBBC and hid out in the ventilation system and watched the entirety of the workouts, Nate killed it. Draft him.*

*lying. duh

Thanks for the info!

James Ennis is a solid prospect for the 2nd round. This is not a bad list (although I don't want either PG in the 1st).

I like Pressey, though I haven't seen a lot of him or his potential. I guess we will get a look at him in Chicago this week.
