What's new

Official Jazz workouts thread

I say what's the pont of the 21st pick. Are we really going to get someone that will have even a 50-50 chance of being anything more then roster spot player. I say either find someone dumb and trade both picks for a pick in 14 or trade both picks to move up and get CJ.

I think rondo was darfted 21.

You don't think he is? DX has him #15 currently, I think that's pretty close to be honest witchu.

The only player DX has in front of Schroeder who I think shouldn't be there is Plumlee. Other than that, all those players in front of him and behind him are where they should be.

To be honest witchu.

Schroeder is enjoying his rise in stock right now. But as we get further from the hoops summit GMs will get geeked about new rising stock (see: Adams, Gobert after combine). Bigs rise.
Who knows? CJ might be there at 14 - although I don't know who I like better between him and Schroe.

Jazz have 2 good bigs now but in the past I remember pining for a big in the draft. Other teams will be salivating over bigs in this draft too. Right now Adams and Gobert are hot names. After Zeller's combine numbers some GMs are gonna remember "oh yeah, he's quite good too, isn't he. And he's 7 feet." Same with Plumlee - he's big and athletic.

No need to get too married to only one prospect.

Unless I'm pretty certain McCollum can be Curry-good shooting wise, I'm gonna go with Schroeder. He's just a more rounded player.

- He's better at defense.
- He's better passer/game manager/floor general.
- He's quicker in the open court.
- Better vision
- He's also younger.

But if McCollum is shooting like 45 out of 50 in 3's in workouts, boy, I think with the personnel we have, I've got to go with him.

Don't remember seeing this in the Draft thread.. if it's been posted let me know and I'll delete it.

Why does a player have to be "Curry-good?" So, now we're trying to pick up the best shooter in the world with our mid-round pick?

Also, all of these posts about Schroder (and how he's better at like everything) need to be tempered by no one REALLY knows. I was one of the first to be wowed by his Nike performance, but I also stated, at that time, that I am CAUTIOUSLY optimistic.. these absolutes are hilarious.

I still have McCollum over Schroder.. but I admit it's a safer pick and I could totally get behind going upside over steady.

I watch my share of college basketball, but don't consider myself to be an "expert". That said, I haven't seen any film or read anything that screams point guard about McCollum. What role do you see him playing in the NBA? Is he a point guard or a shoot first combo guard? And if he's a combo, doesn't Burks already fill that role for us?
