Official Locker Room Cleanout Thread

Have you watched Gasol the last 2 years?

can he come back from his injuries? He still has talent, and maybe with motivation he can be good. At the very least, we might be able to absorb his contract to get a pick or something.

Gasol can barely run the floor, plays soft defense and rarely posts. He can pass though, and make 18-foot jumpers. Lets see what he looks like in the playoffs.

Well, he did have triple-double in their playoff-clinching win.

So you're tellin me there's a chance...
Probably not. There's nothing else we'd want from the Lakers for giving them tax relief. And Gasol would only be good for 1-2 years. That would likely put us in the same spot as this season: vying for the playoffs, but not contending. Just miss the 8th seed and the lottery pick wouldn't net us a franchise player.

Yeah the only draft pick we could get from them would be a late round pick in 2015 at the earliest. Not really worth 20 mil.

We have all remarked about how Ty is learning, even if it is slowly. Since we all know he will be back next year how will you judge him if:

1) He coaches a C4 centered team to the lottery?

2) He coaches a C4 centered team to the playoffs?

3) He coaches a vet/C4 team to the lottery?

4) He coaches a vet/C4 team to the playoffs?

I'll be fine with 1 or 2. Hell, I wouldn't have cared if this year the wins weren't up there as long as the C4 is playing. Either find out if something is there or not, but at least play the future of the team, especially since there isn't much of a drop off if any from the vets.

I'll be disgusted with either 3 or 4 again. Only because Ty plays marginal vets for many minutes. Marvin Williams got more minutes a game than Derrick Favors did this year (admittedly not by much, but the fact it's more let alone not 5 or so less a game I just don't understand). Marvin ****ing Williams somehow did that. Un-****ing-believable, that fact alone pisses me off to no end. And there is no reason there should have been a 10 MPG disparity between Foye and Burks. Or for that matter a 10 MPG disparity between either Al/Sap and Favors, and a 15 MPG disparity between Al/Sap and Kanter.

Actually thinking about it Kanter's 15 MPG total this year is the biggest travesty.

Dennis Lindsey I've seen Dirk Nowitzki, watched him lead his team to a title, and score at will on the elite.
AL Jefferson is no Dirk Nowitzki.

Coach Corbin is Captain Obvious?
That seems completely contrary to his lineup rotations this year.

....I think he meant "Captain OBLIVIOUS"! By the way, can someone give me the Readers Digest version of what happen on Wed night? I just got back from camping out in the deep woods of S.C. doing some "birding" and was completely out of touch with the Sports world and CNN news in general! How come only 70 points? How come players that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn were left in the game so long and still continued to shoot? Why did we reserve one of our more pathetic performances for such a key game as this one?

Paul Milsap gave a 2012 CJ Miles type of interview. Everyone else seemed happy.
Corbin and Lindsey both wanted to run more sets with Hayward next year. Told Hayward to carry more of a leadership role. Sounds like both vocal leader and locker-room leader.
Lindsey was really vague.
Locke to Al: "Where do you see yourself next year playing"
Al: "In the NBA"...."Johnathon told me to say that" (Johnathon is the PR guy for the NBA). Point to note is that he didn't say "On the Jazz"

I think that's the gist of it.

...what about the actual game Wed. night? What in tar-nation happened?

Nope. Can't blame this one entirely on Corbin. It was a poor effort all the way around. I think some players already had travel reservations and didn't want the season to last another week.

....well, if Big Al is the focal point of our offensive system....and he has to take 22 shots to score 19 points, then I'd say it's coaching!

AL Jefferson is no Dirk Nowitzki.

He said that he had nowitzki like numbers on long twos this year. Which he did. So did millsap last year. He never compared him to nowitzki over than that. He just said al had improved outside of the post.
