I like the players being worked out so far

Travis Bader is the NCAA all time leader in 3pointers made and attempted but i dont think he has much of a chance in the NBA tbh.

Cameron Clark is a player id be interested in as a undrafted guy, hes automatic from midrange, .435 from 3 this year on 2.6 attempts per his 3pt shooting will be key for teams working him out. he showed the ability to get really hot this year and dropped 32 on Wiggins. hes sorta like a poor mans Evan Turner without the ballhogging

Jackson and Cobbs are interesting seniors as well; Joe Jackson is like a poormans Darren Collison, hes very athletic but very small, Jackson does have a 6'5" wingspan though, he can shoot, pass and push the ball

Justin Cobbs is the guy responsible for ending Arizona's undefeated season last year, hes interesting because he can do a bit of everything including defense, and hes a bigger PG about Deron sized, does not have refined PG skills though hes worth a look imo, 41% from 3 last season

Fuquan Edwin HAS to make the team. Worth every penny just to see Boler trying to pronounce the name without getting all embarrassed.
And hearing about all the senior fans calling into the Jazz office to protest against the on-air profanity.

I like Akil Mitchell. Hard working defensive minded player. Plus he's already been well coached by Tony Bennett.

Not much of a chance to lure him to Salt Lake. I have it on good authority he wants the GS job, especially since they will soon be moving to San Francisco, where he left his heart.

I listened to Locke's podcast this morning. He said that he wasn't able to give specifics (i.e. players who did especially well or especially poorly), but that in general one could see why these players were not likely to be drafted.

I have heard on good authority as a result of the workouts Cameron Clark will be our first pick.

He must have been talking about the weds workouts because a couple of players from the thurs workout are expected to go second round. Plus just heard from someone who was there that their were two players from today's workout that the jazz very very interested in. He wouldn't tell me who but seemed to hint towards my fav Huestis being one of them

Yes, it was about the Wed workouts (because he recorded the podcast early Thurs morning).

Not surprised when you look at both groups. You could tell that the first group were guys you might bring in as free agents/summer League and the second were guys you might draft/bring in after the combine to workout against 1st rounders

So after two workouts and an interviews from Jazz Vp of Basketball Personel and Jazz President Randy Rigby it is clearer what the jazz are hoping to accomplish in this years draft.

I have no doubt Lindsey probably floated some trial balloons at the deadline. KOC did the same a few times. I remember Minny wanting an extra 1st for Al, which KOC was able to pick up by trading Brewer, IINM. There would have been strong reasons for not pulling off a significant trade at the deadline this year involving players and picks, 1) you don't want to improve the team while "tanking"; 2) couldn't trade the GS pick in case it fell into the lottery, which was still a possibility back in mid-February.

I don't think the Jazz will keep all three of their draft picks. I definitely see Lindsey trading for a good, YOUNG, veteran - i.e. a player off his rookie contract, but one who still has upside or is playing at a decent level. Jazz are done with the Lucas' and Tinsley's of the league. Maybe a player like Marvin returns, but he would be the "floor" in terms of talent level, other than rookies/roster fillers who are picked up to fill specific needs.

Too many teams have one foot in tend one foot out by keeping/playing a older player who puts up numbers and sitting/barely playing the young kid with potential. That either keeps you in the late lotto or knocked out of the first round of the playoffs. Is is the perfect year to put both feet in because there is a good chance we get a potential star with our first draft pick.

Factor in the money he will command. Hey if the jazz want to continue to be what they have been since the Malone/Stockton era or what the Atlanta hawks have been then go ahead. Waste money paying Gordon second option money when he's clearly third at best as well as Marvin a good chunk of change he will command on the market. Let's continue to do the same things and expect different results

Seriously, he can probably get a very similar offer from a team that's gonna win a lot of games. I don't know about you, but that sounds a lot more enjoyable to be a part of than a new-coach/new-system/rebuilding Jazz team.

I agree with you on all of this. I just don't think he'll be back.
