OFFICIAL: Trade Deadline Thread

link isn't working, even when i redo it...weird

anyway its:

Utah gets Reddick and Josh McRoberts
Brooklyn gets Millsap and Raja Bell
Orlando gets Humphries and Marshawn Brooks

I would do Humphries and two unprotected firsts for Millsap.

Why? The Nets unprotected 1st are only going to give you picks in the 20's. Plus with Millsap they will be significantly better, so that pick may be more like 25.

I'm not taking back Humphries ****ty contract for Millsap for anything the Nets have to offer. They would have to dump Humphries to some other team, but who they **** wants to take that? The only scenario I see would be if someone was dumping a longer-term, slightly less ****ty contract on another team. The Jazz won't take back any ****ty contracts (as so far that has been the only concrete statement on their trade stance). Billy King would have to work some magic in getting a lot of teams to agree on something in order for Millsap to become a Net.

This is the same thing Suns fans said when they got the Knicks pick when the Knicks were stockpiling every big contract in the NBA. Brooklyn is going to implode and fast. An unprotected 1st in 2015 and 2017 could easily be top 3 picks.

Risky. Williams and Johnson will limit the teams flexibility but their owner is still a billionaire willing to go far over the cap. Also Lopez, despite being a poor rebounder, is turning into a really good all around player

No one trades unprotected that far into the future anymore though because of that.

If I were KOC, I'd at least entertain some discussion with Atlanta for Josh Smith. I'm not saying I'd trade for him, but I'd have a few conversations. I liked the younger, more athletic SF version of Smith of the past though rather than the jump-shooting, mediocre IQ version of today. Kanter/Favors/Smith/Hayward/Burks would be a load of a team.

Nobody trades their first rounder for a broken down vet when they are about to miss the playoffs and have a high pick either...

I guess you never know. I believe that 1st rounder had some protections on it though (like top-3 protected?).

Haha except Nets last year for Gerald Wallace! They did exactly that... hah. And then Portland got Lillard =(

Ya, but that's lol worthy still. There was like a 95% chance they'd end up with a 6-10 pick.

I'm not saying they would trade a future unprotected, but if there's any franchise right now that would just say, "**** it, we'll deal with the consequences later", it's Brooklyn.

If Brooklyn would have been patient instead of Jazzing all over themselves in a hurry to win now, they would have a pretty nice young core right now.
