Replace Maurice with a NBA GM. That is how anyone would feel if they got Kris Humphries in a trade.

No one trades unprotected that far into the future anymore though because of that.

You are probably right, but that's all I'd consider for giving them Millsap AND paying Humphries. Two unprotected firsts, 2015 and 2017. One of those would be gold.

I wanna know how come we weren't in on the Harden sweepstakes. Houston didn't have to give up much. We could have put together something better.

How good do you think the Celtics would be if we traded them Al, Paul and Alec for Rondo, Bass and Green? A three-man rotation of our two guys and Garnett would be pretty massive.

Thunder sent Harden, Cole Aldrich, Dequan Cook and Lazar Hayward to Houston for Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, Toronto's first round pick, the Lakers first round pick and Charlotte's second round pick.
Wonder if the Laker's pick has some protection. I'm sure OKC was figuring it would be a very late 1st-rounder. Now it's going to be a lottery pick, depending on the protection.

I'm confused, I thought that the Lakers pick this year was going to Phoenix.

Lakers Pick (currently 13) goes to Phoenix (but it is way more complicated than that.

Thunder have the pick from Toronto (Currently 8) and possibly a pick from Dallas (Currently 11, top 20 protected) via Rockets in the Harden trade via Lakers in Odom trade via Jordan Hill trade.

If I were KOC, I'd at least entertain some discussion with Atlanta for Josh Smith. I'm not saying I'd trade for him, but I'd have a few conversations. I liked the younger, more athletic SF version of Smith of the past though rather than the jump-shooting, mediocre IQ version of today. Kanter/Favors/Smith/Hayward/Burks would be a load of a team.

So you want Smith to not take jumpers anymore and play him at SF???

I'd want Josh to take some jumpers, but he used to be an effective slasher, and now he chucks too much. He's mellowed in recent years.
He was also among the league leaders in blocks, but he doesn't assert himself like he used to.

Sounds like the description of AK.

If Houston still likes Al Jefferson, they have quite a few young assets to move still--Terrence Jones, DoMo, Patterson, etc. They could compete now with Jefferson.

Is the trade deadline supposed to be this boring? So far all it's been is 2 Memphis trades and a buncha ****ty Sheridan rumors.

THe last 3 days or so is when stuff goes down. I expect things to heat up during All-star weekend.
