Official UofU homer thread

I haven't been following this thread very closely. I'll check in, like, once a week.

Is fishonjazz's main point that BYU fans are gracious losers?

What you did there was straight out of the cougarboard handbook of moral superiority.

Show how Ute fans are scum, BYU fans are chosen by God, and that makes it ok to be a fan of a very mediocre program while your rival excels.

All you need now is a story of how your car was keyed after you put a BYU sticker on it, how you flew a BYU flag and your house was vandalized, and the tidbit on how when you went to RES and all the beer poured on you.

We get it. We've been hearing these things since you started beating us in the 70's. We took your fanbase's crap for 20 years. Now things have settled back into the historical normalcy, where Utah is just better than BYU. It's ok. Your grandparents never knew BYU had a football team and your kids will probably never know BYU has a football team.

The universe is righting itself.
Actually joebagadonuts asked me to go look at the comments section of ute related articles to see all the byu fans talking trash about the utes
So I did as he asked. Thats all

I think I'm done talking to you ute version of conan.
You will be my only poster on ignore. Congrats

Kinda
Really though what has happened is some ute fans were whining about byu fans talking trash and so I have been trying to find some of this trash talk to no avail

"trash talk" is just one way cougar fans express the most fragile psyche in sports. You can be fragile as **** and not say or type a word.

Ok

but, seriously, if you want to plead down to "gracious loser", then I'd be happy to co-sign. As long as the last word appears on the bottom line, we're good.

lol
Sure
That's what I have been agreeing to all along.
Nothing has changed

Better than not being a gracious loser imo. What do I care? I don't play college football or effect the game in anyway. Why should I beat my chest when the team wins or loses?
I'm usually a pretty nice, humble guy who doesn't trash talk whether the team I cheer for is winning or losing.

There are a few different kinds of fans out there. The ones who are blowhards that can't say anything intelligent about the sport they are following and insult all the other teams and make excuses anytime their own team doesn't win and then there are people who love a sport and have a team they cheer for and can have an intelligent conversation about their own team's and other team's strengths and weaknesses. NOAS seems like the first kind and I know fishonjazz is more like the second kind.

7 number 1 votes, FWIW.

Utah is gunna have a lot more than 7 if they can take care of Cal next week. IIRC they are installing a giant video board for next season. The Basketball team just got their new practice facility and they are bringing back enough talent to be competitive. Great time to be a Utes fan/recruit.

you're welcome

Funny how many BYU fans are here. Yes, I troll the BYU thread from time to time. But I don't get all butt hurt when they fire back.

Anyhow, can't wait for Saturday. Tim Patrick and Hunter Dimick will be back from injuries. We are just getting better.

I think Fitts stays in the LE position and Dimick moves back to the RE side where he was last year. Fitts will be a beast for us this year. I think we start to see him shine, especially with Dimick back. Can't wait to see Utah's DL tear Cal's OL apart.

Also can't wait to see what Wilson and Booker do to that defense. Cal is giving up 32 points per game vs P5 schools. Utah is averaging 38 points per game. Could be ugly, but I stick by my preseason prediction: 35-17 Utah.

I hope this team is as good as we think they are. I remember in 2008 thinking the same thing about that team.

What's crazy is we get to find out every week. That's awesome and sucks all at once. Ha ha. The game is sold out, even standing room only. It's gonna be crazy there sat.

This two week layoff has been killing me.

Amen. It feels like the Oregon game was a lifetime ago. I thought we'd destroy anyone after that game. Every day that passes, I get more and more nervous. At least in the good old days, practices were open to the public and the local shill could tell you how amazing everyone was. Now, nothing.

Can't wait for Saturday.
