Why wouldn't we offer a first for Beverley?
Because he's not the answer?

He helps, though.
I've been a fan of Bev for a long time. Probably started multiple threads about acquiring him. Because I've de-escalated my gaze on jazz-related issues, I'm not really sure how acquiring him would impact being able to keep Hill and Ingles (and Hay, obvi).... so I'm not officially endorsing this. But he'd be a useful bench piece, no doubt.

He helps to ruin the tank if we lose Hayward and Hill and he doesn't help with getting Hayward and Hill back.
He helps to ruin the tank if we lose Hayward and Hill and he doesn't help with getting Hayward and Hill back. And I like him. He's awesome for his contract. I kind of want to just get him, just because of his crazy good contract, but he doesn't really help us in the ways that most matter for the franchise right now.
I like Beverly, but I feel like we almost have to get Kevin Love somehow to make the team viable option for Hayward to stay (assuming we don't re-sign Hill).
Then we have a starting unit of:
Beverly
Ingles
Hayward
Love
Gobert

If Beverley is our PG we will need more playmaking and offense-creation on the wing. Are you assuming Hood is gone in the Love trade?
Well if the question is "who improves the team more immediately, Beverly or the 30th pick in the draft?", then he is the answer.
Anyway, as I've said before, DL isn't going to scrap the year and tank if they lose Hillward. They're going to try and give Rudy another shot at the playoffs. They probably don't want to carry 3 rookies anyway, and certainly not 4.

Yes. I think that lineup has enough offense. Also, I think the Rockets want to deal Lou Williams too, so you could always take him back as a 6th man (though I'm not a huge fan of his). Or you could sign Teodosic.
I don't like this team. It's kind of cringey IMO.
