What's new

Paul George

I'd push hard on the Butler, George and Lillard fronts if I was Boston. See what possible deals could be made. Gauge whatever those are v. Hayward and a top 3 pick. Each has risks.

If Boston gambles on Hayward and losses..

How long do Butler, George and Lillard have left on their deals? Anyone?

Lillard is a long time. I think this year is the first year on his deal.

I'm so jealous of Boston. Think about this:

They probably end up the #1 seed in the East this year. If they convinced Hayward to sign this summer, they would then be able to add:

Hayward
a top 3 pick
another top 10 pick, at worst in 2018.

TO THE #1 SEED IN THE EAST.

HOLY SMOKES. They are freaking stacked.

Fixed.

The only way Utah can afford a third max player plus the $20mm that Hill is going to command next summer is by dumping Favors, Burks, Exum, Diaw, and Lyles.

Then your bench looks like this:

OP IS MORAN!

You are stuck with this ****ty roster re-build the Jazz have delivered. Boston fans, not so unfortunate.
If we get George we don't re-sign Hill. You try to get Darren Collison or something.

Then they have to max a 5'9 PG

This is the thing about trading for PG:

Why would he re-sign here after we depleted assets to get him?

Just try to get a meeting in FA, best you can do.

Lmao then they lose out on their window where they have all these great role players on the cheap.

Having assets is so over-rated. What makes Ainge such a great GM is he gets assets and then turns them into All Stars. He did it with Garnett and Allen. Then he flipped both for more assets. Now, he is going to flip those assets (cheap role players) for more all stars.

While Utah just sits on their assets until they walk as free agents....Or Sacramento trades theirs for nothing. Or OKC trades Harden for some extra cash (BTW, how did that work out for OKC? No titles, no Durant...but they saved about 2 million dollars!)

GM's that sit on cheap role players and assets are worse than Hinke. Hinkie has set Philly up with Embiid.

Let's hope Lindsey has some Ainge in him.

If I'm Utah, I trade anyone not named Hayward and Gobert (like Stoked said).

If you are George, and you have Hayward and Gobert here, that is why you resign here. You are winning 60 games a year. No other team can offer you that, other than Boston.

One more reason to lean towards shooting for Lillard. Lillard likes it here. He'd stay.

If they trade George they want to rebuild around Turner. That would fit perfectly into our plans. Exum, Lyles, Hood and a few first-rounders. Lyles plays next to Turner and your backcourt is Exum and Hood. On top of that you have three-first rounders to use this year is a loaded deep draft. Doubt they would take the offer but for hypothetical it works. You get the #5 and #23 pick in the 2014 draft, the #12 pick in the 2015 draft and two first-round picks in the upcoming draft. Not a bad reset.

SO WHY TRADE FOR HIM THEN IF HAVING HAYWARD/GOBERT IS ENOUGH FOR HIM TO SIGN?

No need to give up assets. If he is interested in joining a contender he should want to sign with a team that has players and assets.
