What's new

Preseason Game 1: Utah @ Portland, Monday Dec 19th, 8pm MST

After all the naysaying at the beginning (especially by me), I'm super stoked on that second quarter. The future is now.

Kanter, Favors and Evans all looked... pretty durn good.

Burks had good spots, more pos then negative

Hayward was bricking but still playing smart.

Every single veteran was terrible. Bell is really just a non-factor. Doesn't fit in at all.

The only thing more painful to watch than the starting lineup: the Jazz' halftime show.

Please send Okur and Raja out to the court quickly to put me out of this misery.

Portland can't keep shooting like that can they?
I like what I've seen from the young guys.
Utah's offense looks really bad, they aren't clicking, or moving.
Is it because the offense is new to them, they are new, or just that this is the first pre season game?
All of the above?

Just seems like they don't know where to go, how to cut, and about anything else deliberate. Having said that, I do have some positives, but I'll keep those to myself for now, ha.

Burks
Favors
Hayward
Evans
Kanter

=Raw talent looking good out there and holding their own. Wait till they start playing as a team. Loving the youth movement so far.

I'd like to see Favors, Kanter, Evans and Hayward on the floor at the same time, then switch in Burks for Evans.

Kanter with 5 rebounds in 9 minutes.
Okur with 0 rebounds in 7 minutes.

Jeez Burks, Eric Maynor called and said you need to gain some weight.

Nice looking kid - but he needs to put on a good 20 pounds if he's going to survive attacking the rim like that in this league.

Kanter looks full of nerves but he hung in there and attacked the boards.

Favors came on strong - loving his contribution as usual

The Jazz ended up with 11 offensive boards in the first half, obviously missed shots had a lot to do with that, still a huge number. Portland only had 5.

Impressed by Kanter's rebounding and the rebounding from our young bigs. Looks like he can be a nice garbage man this year. His offensive moves need some major work though.

Also Burks. He made stuff happen off the dribble with quick moves to the rim.

Love the future frontcourt of Kanter and Favors. LOVE IT!!!!!
Kanter has been the biggest surprise thus far. He's holding his own. Favors is putting up very good numbers. Definitely more effective than Okur and Jefferson. Favors definitely needs to start. It will be interesting to see what lineup Corbin starts with Wed night. But more importantly, what happens on Dec 27th. Evans may also be a factor this year. I really hadn't given him much credit in terms of predicting minutes. I may have been wrong. Burks needs to take ALL of Bell's minutes.
