Unprotected draft picks, Quickley, Grimes, Barrett.
another thing about these rankings….everyone is ranking the more distant picks more highly. I understand why…but I feel teams/GM’s think the opposite. 2029 is long ways away.
That’s the entire point. It is so long away. Anything can happen. Why did Minnesota only put protections on the 2029 pick?
I'm sure it's a bit like businesses generally. When your assets are tied up for 7 years, you lose a lot of flexibility.another thing about these rankings….everyone is ranking the more distant picks more highly. I understand why…but I feel teams/GM’s think the opposite. 2029 is long ways away.

I actually really like Toppin. Would love to see what he can do with a bigger role and a coach who believes in him. Might be a real buy low move.Advance stats really love Toppin. 120ortg/111drtg and 2.0 BPM is the third highest on the Knicks trailing only D.Rose and Robinson while being significantly healthier than both.
He may be Favs type of solid rotation piece with decent upside. Average 17/8 easily when given enough minutes.
Thib simply screwed the kid over by playing Randle over him.
Been watching some video and feel the same way. His 3pt shot isn’t great and has a bit of that Jae Crowder quality where it looks a bit mechanical and goes hot and cold quite quickly. It looks solid enough though to up his % a bit. Corner 3 looks pretty decent.I actually really like Toppin. Would love to see what he can do with a bigger role and a coach who believes in him. i like toppin as well, i just wish he were about three years younger on the same trajectory. dude will finish next season at age 25. ugh. having said that, i want him in the deal and think he can be a an efficient 17-20 ppg guy

This may have already been posted in another thread but Locke does break it down pretty well on his pod todaySince NYK is the most rumored team in the Mitchell hunt, let's lay their assets out and rank them. This is kind of a tedious process, so everyone may not be into it, but it's cool to just type them all out and see them in front of you. I'm only including draft picks and players on rookie scale contracts.
New York:
- 2023 1st from Dallas (protected 1-10 in 2023)
- 2023 1st from Detroit (Protected 1-18 in 23, 1-18 in 24, 1-13 in 25, 1011 in 26, 1-9 in 27. Becomes 2027 2nd rounder if never conveyed)
- 2023 1st from Washington (Protected 1-14 in 23, 1-12 in 24, 1-10 in 25, 1-8 in 26, becomes two 2nd rounders in 27 if never conveyed)
- 2024 2nd from Cleveland or Utah (more favorable)
- 2025 1st from Milwaukee (Protected Top 4)
- 2023-2029 1st rounders (Not going to type each one out, but they are tradeable up to 2029, can only take one every 2 years, can do swaps on the years you dont have one)
- RJ Barret
- Obi Toppin
- Immanuel Quickley
- Cam Reddish
- Quentin Grimes
- Miles McBride
- Jericho Sims
- Trevor Keels
Man you really dont watch basketballToppin has very similar profile as Favs. I can see jazz fans loving Tobbin the same way they loved Favs. Probably never gonna be an all-star but will be a solid starter for many years to come
