For reference, Corbin signed a two-year deal with a team option for the third year shortly after Sloan bounced. I assume that means the contract went into effect this season, but maybe it started when he signed the deal? At any rate, it's not like the Jazz are paying Corbin $6 million a year and he signed a five-year deal. Eating <$2 million isn't the craziest thing I've ever heard of an organization doing.
True. But this is the Jazz we are talking about. Coaches are not fired here, they quit when they feel like it.
