Rockets @ Jazz - 7PM MST Wednesday- FSN

Lots of people have already commented on Sloan's choices so no need to bring up rotations or minutes.

My question/comment is the SG position. Price and Bell were the primary 2's playing against Kmart, who is one of the best scores in the NBA. Stopping him is tough for every team. Yet the BIG knock on Martin is his D. He will never be the superstar because he refuses to play D, or at least that's what the smart guys on tv say. Why is it then that we got a combined 6 points from our SG? We got a combined 28 out of our SF's who were up against one of the best defenders in Battier. I don't get it.

did you watch the la vs. rockets game?
he locked down kobe 3 times in a row to end the fourth.
he isn't nearly as bad as people make him and his shooting touch and foul drawing abilities more than make up for what flaws he has.

Yes....

Since we were doing so well with Deron at the helm...

Do we really have such short memories? This team was losing WITH Deron starting.

Deron is no doubt a lot better than Price. But to think that Deron is going to somehow turn these losses into wins is completely absurd. I don't think there's one game that we would have won had Deron played. Even last night. Watson had a great game and did two things that Deron never does, rebound and take care of the ball.

either move deron to the 2 or watson needs to score 22 a game..

Starting right now, switching the starting line up to:

Evans
DWill
AK
Millsap
Jefferson

...would win us the NW division.

This lineup gives us absolutely no shooting except DWill. Can you imagine how much teams would pack the lane. Teams still respect Bell's shooting so they will play him on the peremiter.

Why anyone would respect Bells shooting at all right now is crazy. I would rather see Evans give it a go out there then watch Raja play right now. That line up would not work more than one game. But I would just love to see some sort of shake up to get this team going if possible.

Really? Evans for Bell would be the difference?

It would certainly help us space the floor better. Raja sucks at shooting now and Evans' jumper looked silky last night!!!

I think before his career is done, Evans will become respected as a shooter outside of the paint. Dude has all of the tools, he just needs the confidence and the reps.

So Watson takes an ill-advised 3 with 6 seconds left on the shot clock, then an And-1 on the other end. And the final play goes to a guy shooting 6-17 for the game. Gawd this team has a bunch of idiots and/or terrible coaches. I know Utah has a couple of starters missing, but this team has gone to ****. It's time to dismantle this mess and start over.

Do you still think Millsap&Jefferson will be the greatest frontcourt duo the Jazz have had? I have serious concerns about that.

The Jazz would have won this game with Deron, and that's obvious. At least we would not have seen the Rockets playing 6 on 4, thanks to Ronnie.

I don't think last night would have been a guaranteed w. Especially considering how this team was losing even before Deron was injured. We'll never know for sure.

I think coaching was 10x more of a factor than Price was. Price is just a convenient scapegoat. Sloan's substituting patterns, along with our perimeter players unable to shoot from the outside (1-11 on 3s), and finally our pathetic perimeter defense doomed us.

I thought our offense was extremely inefficient through the last 2 quarters, and our defense kept us in it for so long. The shot clock went down to 5 on nearly every possession in the 4th quarter after hayward and evans were thrown out. Quite disorganized.

Price WAS a sign of the coaching problems = player pt. Price should play little if at all except when we need to defend another mighty mite. But ole Jer when down the player list and RP was the only other SG so he had to play him. So don't blame Sloan, its not his fault, it is the player list that forced his hand. LOL. Too bad Hayward and CJ are listed as SF and cannot under any circumstances be inserted as SG.

In the first half Bell and Hayward did pick up 2 quick fouls so there was a reason to put him in. In the 2nd half they stayed out of foul trouble so no need for Price.
