Could have had Trey Burke. . . but they blew it!

As long as Mack and Neto understand and are fine with what will likely be limited playing time, and there are no decent trade offers for them, why would the Jazz trade either of them? They're good depth; keep both.I'm a big fan of keeping Hill and Mack this season. I have a strong feeling that one of them will be with us on a long term deal next summer, but I think we might take Mack should Hill want too much. Either way, we need to keep both.
As for Neto, I'm not sure what to think. He shows flashes of great play, but he's so limited athletically. I'm fine with him sticking around as a 3rd option PG if he can continue to work on his shot.

Free up a roster spot for what? They now have the depth where they don't need to cycle through Dleague guys just to find someone to fill 10 minutes in a backup role. No need to tinker with the bottom end of the roster. Its set. I'm comfortable with everyone on the roster right now in the role they are going to be expected to play.

I fail to grasp why any team would have a plan to keep Mack around long term. He seems just like an emergency pick up or a career back-up journeyman. He is very slow-footed and a subpar ball-handler for his position; his outside shot is iffy and his smarts - an he has some - barely compensate for those limitations. That's why he had such an underwhelming career, IMO.
I can't agree. He is fine back up PG maybe even top 15 back up? You can't be so mad just as you love it Neto. Brazil!
I think Mack's higher number of assists can be explained by the much greater leeway that he seemed to have within the offense. Neto, after all, was just a rookie. The biggest knock on him was that he couldn't shoot but he did it much better than anyone could reasonably expect. I am from Brazil and I wasn't particularly excited, as a Jazz fan, when the team signed Neto, but now you can count me on his bandwagon. He seems to be one of the last remaining pass-first point guards in the league - something which any Jazz fan can appreciate - and I think he should be given a vote of confidence. The only reason to keep Mack around at this conjuncture is the fact that he is Hayward's buddy, IMO.
For someone who might contribute more than a fourth PG.
