SLC Dunk - Utah Jazz vs Toronto Raptors: The Overtone

All Fans want is consistency in how games are called.I thought tonight was one of the worst games I've ever seen officiated and it impacted the game in such a big way. Tonight was a great example of how some games the refs tip the scales. there is no doubt they tipped the scales in favor of the Raptors tonight. Hayward would get mauled and they would call nothing. Lowry would get bumped by empty space and that would get him a trip to the line. It was bad. and its not like this is rare. the 2m min reports last season proved jazz were 2x more disadvantaged than the 2nd most disadvantaged team last.

I'm getting to this point where I don't want to watch the NBA anymore. It's certainly not worth it when the Jazz get totally screwed. Tonight was a Sh** show. No doubt.

Ive mentioned this before but I think some refs hate the Jazz because of the bear mascot. I have never seen another mascot mess with the refs as much as he does. I think it makes them dislike Utah. Some refs laugh at his antics but other refs get really bugged, which I dont blame them. Refs dont want to be a part of the entertainment especially the butt end of it.

Bear must've humiliated the hell out of Tom Washington for how consistently *****y he is against us whenever he refs our games.

It sucks bigtime when someone playing defense the right way by moving his feet and not just hacking away gets absolutely crucified ... so many other teams get away with an inordinate amount of hacking and grabbing and pushing

Maybe we should start playing a little rougher and see what happens.

And seriously .. even once Quin should should just totally lose his **** and get tossed. The squeaky wheel unfortunately gets the grease

Aside from the refs, I didn't like Quin's rotation tonight. He should've given Burks some burn at the beginning of the 4th. And too much Joe Johnson. Yes, he was hitting those shots but he stagnated the offense and the Jazz couldn't get anything once he was out of the game because they had lost their rhythm. He should've tried Dante in the 4th on Lowry. He already tried Mack and it didn't work. We have to find some better defenders at crunch time because Mack and Jingles won't cut it if we are to go any place in the playoffs -- well we do have one who is hurt, Hill. And I think we need to make Dante that other lockdown perimeter defender because he has the potential to be one.

I'm starting to get the feeling that the Jazz may be considering to trade Burks because that's what usually happens when a player is healthy and they don't play him, especially one who was a rotation player in the past. I don't know what Quin is thinking, but we could've used Burks both of the last two games.

Diaw was another guy that was left out of the mix tonight, like four minutes I think. With how well Diaw has been playing of late, I was surprised to see Lyles leapfrog him on the depth chart tonight. Think we could have used a little more stretch and less packing the paint.

This game clearly illustrates what is separating us from the top 4 teams in the NBA. Toughness, and concentration. We've got to play with an edge if we want to compete for a title in the years to come. We've also got to take care of the damn ball, especially late.

We are close....it hurts losing to the Raptors AGAIN, but in a few weeks hopefully this loss wont sting at all.

Indeed and that toughness, concentrationa and abilityt to take care of the ball late comes in great part with experience. Some playoff burn would be great and ideally we would want to avoid the 8th seed because you don't learn much from being swept by the Warriors whereas a good competitive series against Houston or someone else would really help this team's growth.

Guys like Lowrie he just attacks like he's trying to run through the wall and for better for worse the refs rewarded him with FTs. Saw it a couple of times this game. He ran right through Exum and got the foul.

Other than Gobert, I wish we'd have more players who are that hungry for a victory.

So is Hill our #1 player....
He is a starting caliber point guard. Which is what this team is missing. Isiah thomas. Kyle lowry. Shelvin mack. Don't add up.

Agreed.

This year at best win we will the 1st round of the playoffs (if we finish in the 4/5 slot), At best. maybe even just lose game 6 or 7 of round 1.

Round 2 will will get it handed to us.

Hayward walks......I do not think Hayward walking will be crushing but it will sting.

If you replace Favors with Millsap, we win all these type games. And we are better for the playoffs. One year of being legit with Millsap is better for me than 2 years of losses like this with Favors.

The kicker - I bet we could get a draft pick and Millsap for Favors. And we are a better, more balanced team. We would actually be contenders.
