What's new

Sources: Utah has expressed interest in re-acquring Deron Williams

I don't understand all this enthusiasm for the Deron's rumours, he is arriving at the end of his career.

I would prefer to extend Hill rather than bringing Deron back.

The Jazz needs to improve other positions. They need a defensive specialist ( small forward or shooting guard) and a power forward that can shoot! I would say Crowder and Mirotic.
Jazz should rent Gallo and see how a playoff rotation of Gobert, Favors, Gallo, JJ, Hayward, Jingles, Hood, Burks, Hill and Exum fares. If they can sign D-Will after he's bought out (like a contender) then I'd be all for that instead of throwing significant assets at Dallas.

lmao you are hilarious. You really have no idea what you are talking about. You call him ball dominant, but the opposite has been true his entire career. He was one of the best at playing off-the-ball in Utah and he has been playing in multiple PG lineups in Dallas where he is often off the ball.

Now you are saying our offense sucked with D-Will in Utah when he wasnt playing well? Crazy, our offense wasnt great when our best player wasnt playing well sometimes. The same is true of every team ever in the history of the NBA. Dear lord dude, at least come with some points.
Look Cy. What the hell do you want me to say? I don't like him. I wasnt the biggest fan on how he plays. If he was so valuable, why is Dallas ready to let him walk for some unknown?

He was at his best when he ran the offense, good p/r with Booz and finding guys like Okur. He was at his best with Fisher but that didnt last long enough. I
If Hill was out for a majority of the last 25 games, he is a great get. If Hill is mostly healthy, he's an unneeded distraction. My opinion.

This is what I think is going to happen.

D-Will prediction: #Mavs & #Jazz take trade talk way near the deadline. Deadlines make deals - unless you're the #Kings i guess

We should trade Favors and Burks to Atlanta for Millsap, Sefolosha and minor draft considerations. We need the premiere PF next to Gobert and the perimeter defender.

Are they planning to buy out if they don't find a suitor? Who would give up a first for him? I don't think anyone. We've got a plethora of second rounders. I think being able to squeeze Bogut out of the deal I'd throw in the GSW pick. We need legit rebounding and defense. It would certainly make playing Lyles more tolerable if he's not paired with Diaw.

1. Dallas wants to trade him because they arent competing for anything and it's better if they lose more games to improve their own draft pick.
2. I want to you to not lie about D-Will. Saying he is ball dominant is just a gross mischaracterization of his play style. Just say the truth that you are bitter that Sloan quit the team and instead of blaming the adult man who quit on his contract you choose to blame the player.

They are probably hoping all the teams that lost out on Lou Will put in calls for D-Will, raising price. Makes no sense for them to do a deal right now instead of waiting til deadline.

I wonder if any of this info is actually coming from the Jazz. Usually "leaked" info about the Jazz ends up not being true. They are still pretty tight lipped.

I would be okay with this trade if its for a 2nd round pick. But a hell no to a 1st round pick. He does not really improve this team at all except for injury help. Come playoff time if we are healthy and rolling I am not sure he is any help and if we are not healthy I think we are in trouble in the playoffs. We could get better value for a 1st round pick in this draft and we have other places we need more help at.

I hope it happens, as long as the Jazz don't give up anyone even mildly important. For one I never had any animosity towards Deron, and another it would feel like the Jazz are at least trying something to shake things up a bit.

Sloan was run off by Deron's entitled attitude. He had had enough. DWill only found success with Sloan and Fisher guiding him. Great player, not a winner.

Deron Williams was bad *** until his ankle and wrist injuries got the best of him. Anyone who remembers him any different has a bad memory.

This happens to good, great, and not so great players. Its part of the game. It happens. Who he is after the injuries doesn't change who he was. He really did those things. He really was an Olympian, All star, and was in the conversation for best point guard in the league. The day he landed on Derrick Rose's foot in that preseason game changed the course of history.

The Deron we would be getting is still a smart player and a competitor, but will come with limitations. Put him on a winning team and I bet he plays a little better than he has been with the Nets and Mavs.
