What's new

Stanford @ Utah

As a Utah fan, It's nice to me that they are young and yet have still been in every game. The program seems to be headed in the right direction. We had serious depth issues when we joined the Pac-12, and that seems to be getting taken care of. They have still only had 2-3 Pac-12 recruiting classes and none of the players recruited out of high school to Utah in the pac-12 are seniors yet. I think the progress of the program shows that they are definitely not just going to be a bottom feeder pac-12 team every year and will have a chance to win the pac-12 every few years.
.
Still can we fire the pac-12 officials and sign some high school ones? They can't be worse than the pac-12 officials.

Holy ****ing zoob logic lol

I feel ya
I'm just saying that if people are going to play the what if game that utah is so close to being undefeated (which they are btw), then there is also the other side of those what ifs..... that utah has came close to losing every game (other than weber state)

Regardless of this truth, the utes have been VERY fun/interesting to watcht this season and its exciting to see them fight through this pac 12 schedule.

I'm excited for the arizona game..... all these close big time games have made utah football must see tv

Those players are in the end zone with the ball.

Horrible call by the refs.... its obviously a touchback.

I thought the personal foul when wilson was hit was a bad call too, but at least it was close and could go either way.

The punt though was obviouslyba touchback and I remember right it was even reviewed and still came out wrong

You see the replay of Stanford's TD in the 4th that was coming right at us that I was freaking out about?

Ball obviously hits the ground.

Ya I was complaining about that one when it happened too..... I dont even think he was in bounds either

Ya, that was a bad call. The Roughing the QB call on 3rd down against Stanford was equally as bad though.

Welcome to the new, "safer" football. That was roughing the passer and it would be called every time. It's just the way it is.

I think you are wrong.
Some refs would have called it, some wouldn't in my opinion.

I have seen plays just like that with no flag

Hey Duck, did you forget to switch to your alt before answering your own question?

I just figured the tumbleweeds might keep blowing by and the game would happen before anybody answered, so I gave my own question a shot. All I've seen of Stanford is that last 5 minutes of that Utah game on DVR replay the night of though so I figured you guys were experts on both teams now that you've seen them back-to-back. Belly-to-Belly.

Feel free to start a separate thread, Duck, seeing as how this is a Stanford @ Utah thread...

Oh wait.

Could it be that you did that on purpose to try and minimize the good feeling Ute fans have due to beating Stanford?

Naaaaaah. You wouldn't do that, would you?

Naaaaaah.

Well, if we all made a new topic for every slight deviation from the stricture of the thread title, we would probably have a lot of 1 or 2 post threads. Doner Kebabs in Canada, in Chicago, in Germany, would all have their own threads. I think UCLA simply looks legit. The stats match their ranking. Stanford's do not. So we might conclude their ranking is a product of living off the past few years and hype and we need a new ranking system to tell us the real story. The Duck Rodgers ranking system seems like the only trustworthy system going, so let's use that instead of media votes and coaches polls to get a real picture of what is going on in the Pac 12 right now since we know their humanity is coming into play and screwing up what's really there:

Oregon - 10
Washington - 14
UCLA - 16
Arizona State - 32
Oregon State - 43
USC - 44
Utah - 52
Arizona - 53
Stanford - 59
Washington State - 69
Cal - 73
Colorado - 103

So there's my contention right there. Stanford is the 8th best team in the Pac 12 right now. I guess we'll see.

I don't know how you compute your rankings but I do know that you need to learn to count to nine.
