What's new

Stanford @ Utah

I wonder how Travis Wilson thumb is, it was obvious they weren't having him pass other than those quick HB or WR passes, I was scared it cost them the game. MAN I AM STUNNED and... just speechless from joy.

I don't always post on jazzfanz, but when I do, it's because I stayed up until 4am to watch the Utes Knock off a top 5 Cardinal team...

Well worth it...

What a freaking fun game to be at.
Hell yea.
.
I'll be honest I was just hoping Utah did not get embarrassed and made a game of it. I did not expect a win.
But I'll take it.
.
WOOHOO!

You can think whatever you want. You guys will have had 5 home games already after Saturday - You haven't even left the state yet. And I've been to two of them. If that just blows your mind, I can't help you out there. And I probably would be going to the game tomorrow too had it not been scheduled at the same time as BYU/GT.

Governor Leland Stanford University by 28.

Such an amazing atmosphere at the game tonight.

Feels amazing to get that first signature win in the PAC. Time to keep doing work. Arizona could easily hang an "L" on Utah if they don't bring it.

AS a Cougar alumnus, let me just stop by and offer Utah and all you Ute fans a hardy congrats for an absolutely HUGE win. My brother-in-law is a Stanford grad and I know he's very mad right now. I probably won't even talk to him for another week or so...have to let that anger and disgust settle down a bit.

Sincerely hope you mean Washington St Cougars.

Those passes had NOTHING to do with Wilson's thumb. Utah ran the Oregon style offense. Run the LB'ers to one sideline, then to the other. Then run the ball up the middle. Then run them to the other sideline then back again. I'm not saying Utah is Oregon, but it is the same philosophy as Oregon's. Make that defense run. Eventually, they will get tired and you can gouge them for big yardage.

Then, why change that up if Stanford is unwilling to adjust to it.

Also, Bubba Poole is A LOT faster than he gets credit for. Stanford didn't adjust because they haven't needed to yet this year. Poole is legit.

Utah is a really, really good team. They barely lost to OSU and UCLA and both teams have been ranked this year, and UCLA will probably be in the top 10 after this weekend (and Utah had SIX turnovers against UCLA).

Utah has been so close. They are young. This game will be HUGE for them, IF they can come out and beat Arizona this next weekend. This could be a springboard into exciting things.

Utah's offense returns everyone except for two OL next year.

Also, Whitt is a great coach. This team gets exponentially better every week. Same with Erickson. I hope those two stick together for a couple more years. Hopefully the potential of having his whole offense back with more talent (Scott will be back, plus another year of improvement) will keep Erickson around. This team has potential.

And with the PAC-12 losing Mariotta, Hundley, Kelly, Mannion, Halliday, and Price next year....the window is open.

But, I'm getting ahead of myself. None of this matters is Utah doesn't forget about this game and come out with an attitude against Arizona next weekend.

I think Utah probably overlooks Stanford and gets woodsheded considering their rivalry game with Colorado is only a month and a half away. The excitement for that one is already palpable throughout Utah.

I can only imagine how much anticipation there is for... uhh... the next game against Utah? Or maybe someone can help me know what it is a BYU fan looks forward to.
