STAYWARD

Plus Hayward plans to make a blog post announcing his decision. He may very well have decided to stay and is writing his post as we speak. Then he needs to sleep on it before posting it because he doesn't want to sound dumb like some kind of Trump.

I don't think people are overreacting to the announcement tomorrow. It's the "Genuinely torn" Like it's hard on him that he has to let the whole state down, but he's still gonna do it.

Of course that's just how we choose to interpret a tweet that is based off a source who is not Hayward himselt.
I think most people thought it was going to be a tough decision for him (I thought he would just choose us easily) so nothing has changed. Torn is another way of saying still deciding. Still deciding doesn't equal leaving.

If he knew he was leaving then why not say right now?

Seems to me that he is still thinking about things. That's all. Like most people thought he would.

Don't have a good feeling about it but will still be sort of stunned if he leaves. Boston's roster is super mediocre. Really thought that failing to get George or Butler would reveal their lack of commitment to winning now.
Both Boston and Miami are mediocre. Neither team has a guy like Gobert and the Jazz have a better starting 5 and bench if he stays. I'll be really disappointed if he leaves. I firmly believe that this group is going to be special if they stay together.

I think that from our perspective, "no news is not good news". And that latest tweet is weird as #@##. Something about the support of Jazz fans making him torn.

This is all by the book, brehs. The politics of raising his profile demand that he draws this out. Not surprised this is the route taken.

Meanwhile, some of DL's follow up moves could fall through with somebody else making a move first. Maybe he's already informed DL and that's not an issue, but either way, this is a ****ty thing to do to "your fans" if you already know you're staying and decide to withhold that info.

He's either legitimately still trying to decide, or he already knows he's leaving and he's waiting until the 5th not to ruin everybody's 4th of July. Doesn't really help for me. Worst 4th of July I can remember. I'd rather have a cherry bomb go off in my hand and lose my hearing than to deal with this for 2 more days.

I'm sure he'll shoot right back to #2 if he stays. But I'm not super confident that he will right now.

Bright side, we can develop Mitchell and Exum, Hood more play time. And it's still a pretty good team, and very fun to watch with Rubio. Jazz will go on without Gordon Hayward.

nah i like Mitchell more already

1 Rudy
2 Mitchell

3 other peeps who really want to be in SLC

Sometimes I'm torn on whether to order the Philly or the French dip.

We still have a minimum of a 1-3 chance since he hasn't announced anything. (I think it's higher than that. )

To play devil's advocate, what if he's waiting to be respectful to the Jazz. Would be pretty disrespectful to announce he's leaving minutes after our meeting with him. Or, if he has chosen to stay, maybe he wants to be respectful to the other teams by not announcing immediately after meeting with us.

If he leaves, who will be the first to start the hashtag #wayward or #awayward or #go****yourmothergordonhayward.

I think people might be reading "genuinely torn" the wrong way all because Sam Amick prefaced it by saying "At the risk of tugging on Jazz fans heart string", which leads people to assume that he's torn about leaving. And that might not be the case. It might just simply be, "okay all these teams made good pitches. There are pros and cons to each. So right now I'm torn. Gonna think about it and sleep on it."

Latest report says he'll decide tomorrow. I'm guessing if he was leaving he'd wait until the 5th.

At least that's what I'm telling myself for now.

Tie goes to the incumbent.

If he can see all of his teammates, friends, and the people who have turned him into a star and built a team around him, willing to do anything to make the team a contender, meet with them for four hours. And then after they leave he's legitimately wondering if if would be better to go play with ****ing Hassan Whiteside and some midget, then I'm salty, I can't help it.

If he's leaning Utah but promised himself that he'd sleep on it just because, then fine.

It's a big decision. It makes sense to take time to process everything. I don't think his waiting until tomorrow reveals much, tbh. He's just not in a rush.

Also, I don't think Lebron is going to leave the Eastern Conference. He might lose in the second round in the west.

Let's not jump to conclusions. I'm really trying to see this from Hayward's perspective (minus the money). This is a decision that will change his life professionally and personally. It will affect his family forever. His image. His ability to win a championship hangs in the balance. Could he do it here? Yes. Could he do it in Boston? Yes. But does he have a crystal ball? No. He's been here a long time. Started a family. Blossomed into a great player. That all means something. But this has got to be an agonizing decision no matter what he does. He'll second guess it either way. Of course he is torn. He wouldn't be a human being if he weren't.
