The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Looks like a pretty principled defender.

Bigger question is if Quin would ever play a guy like that. Guys whose job it is to make sure the sex machine is plugged into the wall have value keeping the whole operation alive, but Quin gets so focused on being lean enough that only people participating in the action are allowed in. Then he’s baffled why simply having the machine isn’t enough when it matters.

I thought Stanley was really good on defense (offense was obviously an issue) last year for the Raptors. He’s been good since he came into the league. Dunn is/was a different type of athlete/defender. Johnson is more of a brick house type guy who doesn’t elevate as well, but he is a lot bigger and his size+quickness is pretty unique. Great matchup against the LeBron+Kawhi types but also spent a lot of time guarding PG’s last year.

To answer your question, no I don’t think Quin would play him. But if we’re replacing a player he also won’t play it’s the same.

Stanley is a guy we could potentially get on a Hinkie special. If we’re not going to play Oni, we should at least replace him with someone with a NG in the future.

What level of defense are we talking with Johnson? Am I going to have to go watch 5 minutes of Johnson on YouTube to be an expert on all things SJ or can someone give the breakdown? @idiot ?
Sorry, got nothing on Stanley. Don't really have a lot of extra time these days. Looks like KqWIN has given a good profile.

That was some great D by Stanley Johnson on Harden in the last few possessions

He was kinda getting cooked in the first half, but he was really disruptive in the second half by getting through screens and not giving the switch easily.
