The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Wolves have won 6 of their last 7, a lot of those games in dominant fashion, and Donte D is still playing horrendous basketball. Not looking good for the pick.

Recipe was always going to be slow start (which we got) and then a 4-6 week injury from Ant or Rudy or a couple month long injuries from Randle/McDaniels/Conley. They are still in a three way tie for 6/7/8 and GS hopefully made an improvement and Phoenix had hopefully had their KD injury already.

Without the injury it was gonna be somewhere in the 20s. Still plenty of season to end up with a key injury that lands them in the play in.

Pels are apparently pulling the red handle on their season and taking trade calls on all their vets.
I’d be shocked if I didn’t see this coming a month ago. Was hoping they’d be dumb and try to make it look like they don’t suck so the GM and coach can save their jobs but it’s clear it’s over and I don’t think they win again until 2025.

Lacob did him dirty by pushing that much hype. Pretty normal to have a down sophomore season after a surprise freshman year. The future all-star talk was a mistake.

Could not believe how much people were talking up a player I would normally love. He has great role player written all over him but the future all star stuff was insane. Don’t know if Lacob was the one who started it or he was buying into the koolaide….but way too many people believed it.

Lacob said it on a radio call with a local radio station.

What I meant was I don’t know if people started saying because Lacob did first (idiots if true) or Lacob just echoed what the fans were already saying. Like he was getting extremely overhyped from fans around these parts but I don’t think people were saying that because Lacob said so.

I mean, I'm sure you can find some fans who said it the moment he was drafted (the same way we have a poster who called Filipowski the next Jokic after SL), but Lacob is the one who pushed it.

Last night the Bulls beat the Raptors in OT with THT and Ochai with 15 points each. Here's a blurb about two Jazz alums:
  • Bryce Cotton hasn’t been on an NBA roster since 2016, but the 32-year-old guard has caught the attention of teams in the NBA, EuroLeague, and Asia with his recent play in Australia’s National Basketball League, sources tell Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews.com. As a member of the Perth Wildcats, Cotton is averaging a league-leading 27.8 points per game on .507/.464/.855 shooting. He has scored at least 40 points in each of his past four outings, including an NBL-record 59 on November 30 vs. the New Zealand Breakers. According to Urbonas, Perth has offered Cotton an extension that would make him the highest-paid player in NBL history, but he could test his options in free agency in February or March after the current season ends.
  • Former NBA swingman Miye Oni has signed with Badalona for the rest of the 2024/25 season, the Spanish team announced in a press release. Oni appeared in 80 NBA regular season games for Utah from 2019-22 and was in camp this fall with the Grizzlies before being waived at the end of the preseason.
