The Official 2014/15 Tank Watch thread

He's a shot blocker.

n the downside, Porzingis' lack of strength and experience can be taken advantage of fairly easily by older and more physically mature players. His lower body in particular is underdeveloped, as he gets backed down fairly easily inside the paint, and is very foul prone at this stage at over 7 fouls per-40 minutes. He's also a poor defensive rebounder at just 4.7 per-40, something he should be better at considering his length and athleticism.

Porzingis isn't the toughest guy you'll find right now, which plays against him with his ability to finish effectively around the basket in traffic. He's converted just 49% of his attempts around the rim this season, and doesn't show any real resemblance of a post-game to take advantage of his superior size. He doesn't get to the free throw line very often (2.2 times per-40) as he tends to avoid contact around the rim.

Sounds soft.

I don't care what it takes as long as I hear..With the first pick the Utah Jazz select Jahlil Okafor.

Reality is we're more likely to end up with Jaleel White

Moving on up...to the 5 spot (tied). Only 1 1/2 games out of the #2 position.
Looking forward to the epic battles between the EC cellar dwellers. Need Detroit, NY and Charlotte to pick up a few wins.

Does the rumored trade for AK mean improvement? Anything he gives us is better than what Murry and Evans are doing.

Tank is well and truly on now IMO.. this team isn't ready to contend for playoffs... it really does need 1 more talented piece.

Well the funny thing is had we EMBRACED the tank properly last year like the Bucks did we could have gotten Jabari.

Umm, no. There was no way to out-tank the Bucks OR Sixers, unless it included trading Hayward, Favors and Burks for 2nd rounders. And the league gave the top pick to Cleveland so LBJ could return "home."

I fought the Tank and the Tank won.

Sounds like a 60's song. Here's the updated version:

[FONT=&quot]I’m throwin’ up bricks in the arena
I fought the tank and the tank won
I fought the tank and the tank won
I needed points 'cause we had none
I fought the tank and the tank won
I fought the tank and the tank won

I left my college and it feels so bad
I guess my winning is done
It was the best team that I ever had
I fought the tank and the tank won
I fought the tank and the tank won

Robbin' the Millers with a blanks-gun
I fought the tank and the tank won
I fought the tank and the tank won
I lost the ball, watch the other team run
I fought the tank and the tank won
I fought the tank and the tank won

Opponent drove by me and it feels so bad
I guess my defense is done
Down by 20 now Quin’s really mad
I fought the tank and the tank won
I fought the tank and the tank won

Detroit, LA, NY all win. Jazz now in sole position of the mathematical 5th pick.

Thx. I was just logging on to update this thread.
Charlotte - on the road - took Memphis to 2 OT's before losing. Hopefully this means the Bobcats, I mean Hornets, will start playing better. We're in 5th, but only 2 games out of 2nd.

LA win was a nice surprise. Parker back but the box score shows he didn't play well and Leonard is still out. Thanks SA, for giving LA the win. I think it's a case of Pops wanting LA to finish 6th or better so they have to give their pick to the Suns (top-5 protection). Hey, if you think Trey is shooting poorly, just check out Kobe's stats to date: averaging 26 points, but on 39%/28% shooting. What a chucker!

NY got their victory against Boston, so a case of the bad playing the bad in the EC. Love it when that happens!

Games to look forward to this weekend:

Brooklyn at Charlotte on Saturday
LA Lakers at Minnesota on Sunday

But even if the Jazz do climb (or is that fall) to #4 or even #3 after this road trip, we have to curb our enthusiasm. Home games against Philadelphia and Minnesota finish out the month. Fortunately, the Jazz play in LA the night before the TWolves game, so Minny has a fighting chance to make it close.
