Getting Traded

We don't need Smart but if they give us both, fine. Assets are assets and we can use them for trades. Smart is a solid player.
Nah. Logjam. We need a sf/PF combo not a pg/SG combo.I could see Smart and a 2nd (or two) for Hayward.
please ffs no Smart is garbage

I'm starting a new thread because I keep hearing all sorts of ridiculous speculation about the Jazz giving up players for Crowder.
First of all, Ainge is trying to shed salary so he's not going to add players
Second of all, I wouldn't trade Hood straight up for Crowder, and the Jazz aren't trading Favors unless he has asked to be traded. Some of the ridiculous crap I hear drives me batty
Third, I would stand pat and insist they give us Crowder period and they get to sign Hayward, and if they won't do that, then they can go find another trade partner. Yes, Crowder is a good player but he's no All-Star and the Jazz would be very foolish to help out Boston after they just fleeced us.
TrueI know but I'm not of the mind that we have much if any leverage here.

True
Of course we have leverage. Boston is the one that needs a partner. We can just walk away and lick our wounds. No sense adding insult to injury. If we can get Crowder, great. If not, tell Danny to find someone else. The Jazz would be crazy to give up anything more. They already lost Hayward. And CS says I shouldn't be GM. Oh, so let's add Favors into the mix like you suggested or Hood. WTF?
I don't get how so many people think we lost Hayward so we should get Crowder just for facilitating the trade. They are separate transactions. He decided to go there and now while we may have slight leverage and be able to get a slight discount on Crowder it isn't going to be for free. If Hayward wanted the full max so we had to do a sign and trade for him to get paid sure but that isn't the case.
The fact that Hayward was here last year means nothing and it isn't a terrible contract they are getting rid of. It's an asset that if we end up with for anything less than close to market value they are doing us a favor that they don't have to. It would help Hayward save face a little and that's about it. Boston owes us nothing including any favors.
Nobody has suggested giving up any players that I have seen (other than Celtics fans). It would likely be giving up a pick for Crowder.
