She always intended for herself to be the one death because she made it clear she didn't want Negan to use her to get the upper hand. And in that she succeeded. Yeah, the show has really started going in circles. The only other option is for them to live in peace and harmony which isn't much of a show, so I think they're stuck.

Maybe next season Daryl will jump a pool of zombie sharks on his motorcycle?

They can go forever as long as it makes money. One more bad bad guy, one more death, some new blood to kill later. And the infinite physics- and biology-defying zombie horde to make convenient appearances.

It is really kind of a ****ty show, but hey I keep watching it so I guess they have figured something out. But the veneer is definitely wearing thin.



As I wrote this it hit me that the reason I keep watching is two-fold. One, I want to see Negan die. One of the few remaining characters I actually cared about from the early parts of the show, where they actually showed some real characters, was brutally murdered by him and I want to see him get his, in whatever form that takes whether dead or just deposed. And two, I am holding out for a little bit of hope, I guess. I mean I know the only way they have any story at all is that **** keeps happening, which in this world is totally counter to anything hopeful, but looking for a bright spot in all the darkness is another thing that keeps me coming back. So I guess it can be summed up as the human desire for resolution/closure that keeps me watching. It definitely isn't anywhere near as entertaining as it used to be. Even the shock factor is wearing out.

But frankly, I can see this all completely wearing out next season if they drag things out as much as they did this season. This season was such a blatant money-grab ******** that we watched each week more out of duty and seeing it though than any level of enjoyment. I think I truly liked about 1/5 of what happened this season, and another 3/5 of it was just boring. The last 1/5 is the **** that makes me want to stop watching, so I am on the fence at this point.

But its still one of the most popular shows on TV.

I dont even know what they could do to fix it. I watch it for basically the same reason you do. I just cant stop watching a story I've spent this long watching, no matter how bad. It's why I never watched "Fear The Walking Dead" after I saw the first 3 episodes. It was clearly a terrible show and there was no way I was going to put myself through watching 2 awful shows.

Yeah, I guess, but just seems so lame. Pop out and and stab the dude. All these people have done for the past year is stab zombies in the head, they should be good at it.

They could have some kind of mission to find a cure or something, but I guess they already did that.
 
Well, eventually they will need to end it. So how they can do it? Either they find the cure or everybody dies at some point.

Ya, Im not liking this new season so far. Negan isnt a good character. Dragging this out is boring as hell. I do think they will probabaly drag it out til the end of season before they even stand up to him, and then still wont do anything. Probably just leaves us with a lame cliff hanger.

They'll end it with the establishment of the New United States and show everyone farming and **** with kids running around and all the remaining people smiling and laughing or some lame **** like that. My wife will love it and I'll be like meh whatever.

That's what she wanted to do but Eugene brought her a pill instead of a weapon so she had to use what she had. I was perfectly fine with the way that went down with Sasha. Could have been more exciting sure but it was consistent with the character and far less stupid than lots of other **** they've done.
 
The only direction they can take this that is any element of fresh is a wider scale. The comics is starting to head this way as Eugene is in contact with a group via radio from Ohio/Iowa (cannot remember which)

You angle back into rebuild society on a interstate scale. Politics, economics, trade, militaries...

IF they kill Negan it needs to be Eugene who kills him. That would be the most solid from a payback perspective, from a stick it to Negan perspective, and from a character arc perspective.

Well, We don't really know what the rest of the world is like beyond when you die you turn. Was China over run? Was Russia? Cuba? France?

Have some country invade. The end.

I doubt they would go with politics at all. I would bet more on "divine" intervention. Like some fancy acid rain pours from the sky and all walkers peacefully die and everybody is cured. Time to rebuild, everybody singing halellujah, etc.
 
Let's be honest, no one is hiring the actor who plays Rick Grimes to do anything so they can probably film this show for the next 20 years.

I gave up on the walking dead after season 2. I'm glad I did.
 
The best part was watching Negan totally cripple Rick to Rick understanding that Karl was going to die and whispering in Negan's ear that Negan was already dead. "I will kill you". I like where the show is going.

actually negan is never killed in the comics! he still lives on a while he was in jail held prison by rick. sometimes talking to certain people from his jail cell. even giving rick advice, rick even went to him for help!
