We all know our schedule is brutal. If our record is brutal in mid-January, we need to consider moving some vets or expiring for any assets we can. Especially if Gobert and Mitchell end up needing extra time to completely heal. What are the thoughts on these two trades aimed at the future:

Derrick Favors
for
Jordan Clarkson
Why for Lakers - if they dump Clarkson's deal, they have enough room to sign two max players this summer. The Lakers would love to move Deng, but that contract is probably too much to move right now. And it's doubtful that the Lakers would trade Ingram to move Deng.
Why for us - Our team lacks scoring, and Clarkson does that really well. If Hood can move to the starting lineup, Clarkson becomes an excellent 6th man for us. A future lineup of Exum, Mitchell, Hood, Ingles, Gobert with Clarkson as the 6th man would seem to be pretty dynamic. Clarkson is better than any player we can afford to add in 2018 free agency.
Trade #2

Joe Johnson and Thabo Sefolosha
for
Channing Frye, Cedi Osman, Ante Zizic, Jose Calderon, and Cleveland's 2018 1st round pick
Why for Cavs - they are still in win now mode as long as they have LeBron. Osman and Zizic have the potential to be good, but JoeJ and Thabo help the Cavs win close playoff games now.
Why for us - JoeJ and Thabo deserve a shot on a contender especially if our season continues to slide due to constant injuries. Osman has a good amount of potential and arguably helps us more next year than Thabo would. Zizic is still quite the unknown, but we could groom him as a contributor or an asset. Udoh is too good to stay at the $3 million bargain he is. Zizic and/or Bradley can represent long term depth at center for us behind Gobert since they are on cheap rookie deals.
