What's new

un educated jazz fans piss me off

I trust the Jazz FO and let's face it I'm not going anywhere. A lot of those teams built their teams in FA though, Chicago got really lucky and got a number 1 pick when they shouldn't have but look at teams like Portland, how many lottery seasons have they had in the past 8 or 9 years? Most of them? I don't want to see the Jazz end up that way, just perpetually trying to get the "next big thing".

I know the Jazz are smarter than that and I'll probably tolerate one or two poor seasons if we have the talent to back it up, I just don't want to see it become a trend.

I agree with the last sentence. But I'm all behind one year of difficulty with such an obvious goal in mind.

What proof do you have it will be a trend. Look at what happened the last time they got a top 10 pick - Deron. No trend.

Heck, even this year. No playoffs, they draft the best pg, cut lose the players hurting this team, gather new picks in the deepest future drafts, AND have 30 million in cap space next summer (2 max deals if they want) and you are worried?

Just enjoy next year. Have fun when Hayward goes off for thirty one night but the Jazz lose. Enjoy every P&R will Burke and Favors. Relish every crazy English layup from Burks. You are seeing the future. You can tell your kids you were there when Utah climbed out of mediocrity and became a better version of the Spurs.

Soak it up.

Hate to say this to you Green but...

I TOLD YOU SO!!!!

I'll see how it plays out obviously. The games have not been played and I'm not certain the Jazz are done yet. We will have so many valuable expiring contracts and versatility when the trade deadline comes that we could improve even more.

and i was probably way too hasty in my judgement, and I'll let it play out, but I mean there was no way we were keeping Sap, Al, Mo anyways, and it wasn't like that was a championship starting lineup. so it is all for the best.

LOL.. c'mon man!!! I told you we'd let the Jefferson/Millsap contract run out and go young!!!

To be honest though I don't think you could have foreseen the Lindsey Hire which to me made a lot of this happen...

I was worried at first. But they have been amazing. I know some peeps in the Jazz org, nothing too amazing, but back in Nov they were sure the Jazz wouldn't let Al walk. They said a big who scores and wants to be in Utah...they didn't think Miller would let that get away. That spooked me. Especially how much Al played.

I predicted the same more than a year ago.. maybe I'll dig it up. Was in the 2012 draft thread, somehwere, lol.

Nice. I'd like to read it. I've been on here off and on since 2006-ish (I took a break for a little bit after i was run off for saying Brewer wasnt any good, couldnt shoot, and took too many gambles on defense and he would kill us in the playoffs) and I don't remember you (which makes me the crazy one). I'd like to go back and read what you wrote. See if it jogs my memory.

I'd much rather have a team that is borderline competitive than a team that won't make the playoffs and stink all season.

Amen, brother. Don't give up hope just yet, though. There's always a chance our FO could trade away our future for some mediocre vets and scrape our way into the playoffs. After watching pop coach in the finals this year, I'm pretty sure we could knock off the spurs next year as the 8th seed. Or the Thunder or whoever the best team is in the west. Durant, schmurant. Playoffs or bust!!!

Hey bro, I'm Hotttnickkk, nice to meet you.

So what's your take on these trades/moves today? Do you reckon we're on the right track????

Depends on the protection of next years pick. If it's true that the 2014 is unprotected, then I'm stoked. If the 2017 is also unprotected, I'll be stunned in amazement. Otherwise, if the 2014 pick is top 3 protected or something, I'm afraid I'll have to hold on to my bitterness over not rebuilding during the lockout year.

As for now, I have to admit I'm quite enjoying the irony that Utah just pulled a tank move in a trade with the team that so many fans have trashed for being tankers. Yep, the ironing is delicious.:p

Totally different than the golden state tank.

Roster tanking is ok, in game tanking not ok.
