What's new

Utah Jazz @ Miami Heat - 11/12/15 - 5:30pm ROOT

I just looked it up on nbasavant.com. On fadeaway jump shots from less than 8 feet away and the defender less than a foot away, Hayward shot 23.9% last season.

Can we put this nonsense to bed now? Just because Hayward made a couple fadeaway contested shots down the stretch last year does not mean it's a good shot. Unless you think dribbling out the shot clock for the sake of taking a shot with 23.9% rate of success is a good possession.

I looked it up and it said 58%.

I looked up Gordon Hayward

Type of Shot: Step Back

Defender Distance: 0 feet

21/36

58%

Is there a chance that King CY and Hayward once had a experimental tryst? Damn, that's like some letterman jacket type deal.

So KD's Framily? Where are you? Hayward was dominant on step backs and fadeaways last year. Short memory? Didn't watch Jazz games? Pick your excuse.

What percentage of the fadeways does Hayward get fouled on though?? Y'all got that stat?? Surely much less than when he's heading towards the basket full speed.

Ok Cy, it's obvious that you think that Hayward is the best player in our team. What do you think is our ceiling with this being the case? Serious question.

In all honesty, with Hood's shot nowhere to be found, and the way he forces the issue, he's been reminiscent of CJ Miles.

I'm impressed how easily Burks is knocking down 3-pointers lately.

He can't sustain this efficiency from 3, but 40% on the year might actually be a possibility for him--something no one expected he would ever do when he was drafted.

I think our team lacks a clear cut best player (though I do think Hayward is our most well rounded player), which is our strength and something that should be lauded. The key is getting everyone to perform consistently for a game off of each other. It will happen. The complaints about "so and so should have taken the shot since so and so missed it" are ridiculous. Our team needs to function as one and whoever has the shot takes it.

Burks should start over Hood though. That has to happen. Burks/Hayward need to build chemistry.

That's cool, now answer my question if you may.
