Utah Jazz Summer League Topic

You don't think if someone blows us away in SL we wouldn't free up a roster spot?
That's not the point. The players will go to teams with the best shot at having open roster spots. The Jazz have 16 players under contract, with only two non-/partially-guaranteed players. It's not a good option for the players.

I wonder what Sacramento wants for Rudy Gay? He's asked for a trade and the Kings are trying to move him.
I don't think it's a (total) coincidence that the Jazz have just enough cap space to renegotiate Favors' contract up to the max this season.

Errbody in SL is getting cut. I figure Mack might get traded, or Pleiss. Our roster is as finite as I think it's ever been

They have to come.
Ya, he was saying that the jazz had tons of guys in for workouts for the draft. Seems like they could find something better than paige, walker, and bolomboy. At least I think that was what he was meaning.

Yeah, all these 2nd round picks picked 52 or later are killing it lol. Besides our guys of course.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Offensively I've loved what I've seen. He will look much better when the season starts as he wont be the #1 option. He will be more selective and take what the defense gives him. I see him scoring between 8-12 pts only because of the presence of Diaw, another similar time share with Booker

You guys agree with this rotation?

1 - Hill (24) / Exum (24) (Mack & Neto -- one may get moved, or Neto may play some D-league)

2 - Hood (24) / Hill (8) / Burks (16)

3 - Hayward (32) / Johnson (16) (Ingles is insurance.)

4 - Favors (24) / Lyles (18) / Johnson (4) / Diaw (2)

5 - Gobert (32) / Favors (8) / Diaw (8) (Withey is insurance.)

Give the 8 minutes george hill is penciled in for at shooting guard to Burks and we good.

Yeah, I get that. I just think the Jazz likely brought in Hill to play 30 minutes a night. Realistically, I think Joe Johnson is also going to get more minutes than I've posted. It means that Hood, Burks and Lyles are getting squeezed for minutes.

IMO, Exum needs more than 24 mpg if healthy. His development is crucial. I would also like more than 24 mpg for Hood. But overall it looks good.

Man Quin is gonna have some headaches to sift through this. Wing rotation is so effing deep.

Agreed Burks can put up 20 points and is a better player and Exum is premium talent and front end talent has to play when ready

With the Jazz sitting Lyles tomorrow, how many points do you think the Jazz will score, do they break 50pts for the game, good lord this team (yes I understand the limitations in trying to put together a roster for the Jazz) is the worst looking summer league team I can ever remember, again just speaking in terms of how this team looks after 4 games, on paper there may be worse but not on the court that I can ever remember.

And I don't care about the losses just how they look out on the court is pretty pathetic, well that is one thing they can do well is pretty consistently look pathetic, so I guess they have that going for them.
