Utah Jazz Survivor ROUND 9

Which Jazz player would you vote off in Round 9?

  • Total voters
    56
  • Poll closed .
This is close between the Williams Bros. and Kanter. Now that Favors even has a vote, somebody (or their alt) needs to make a gag vote for Hayward to include everyone.

Mo.

At least Marvin presents a nice sized SF who may stand a chance guarding the elite SF's.

But who is more valuable to this team? You take away Marvin and we at least have capable guys to fill in. You take away Mo and leave the PG duties to Watson/Tinsley we're in trouble.

People are seriously not understanding the game. It's not just about who contributes most NOW, and it's not about how the team would function with the remaining players. It's about who is in the Jazz' best interest to keep around when taking everything into consideration such as a player's potential, contract, and likely trade value.

If you're going to vote Marvin off before Mo with the logic "guys can fill in for Marvin, but we don't have anyone who could fill in for Mo", well...you could use the same logic for voting Favors off before Mo.

The reason why everyone is confused with the rules is because there are too many. It makes no sense to have multiple reasons why you should vote for someone.
Once you add up all the things people will favor other reasons over another.
You should of just left it as Who is the least valuable player.
Once you start adding in Potential and Contracts and the rest of the garbage it mucks the voting up. Keep it simple next time. You can continue to get mad about people voting wrong but when you have tons of rules this is what happens.

Whaaaaaaa?

It's about as simple as it gets, whose the most valuable player for the team, asset wise.

Those things you listed are attributes of what makes a player an asset.

Would it be simpler if we made it a who has the most trade value contest? That's basically what it is. (before people complain about Al, STFU he has No trade value.)

PS twin towers, I'm mad at you now.

Sorry for the confusion everyone. I did this same game a couple years ago and everyone seemed to grasp it so I didnt go too I depth explaining it this time around.

HA HA I am sorry. Forgiven yet?

What I am saying is when you have too many rules people get confused. Just like in economics in the business community. Businesses don't know what they are doing right. Or even Kids that I teach. When you set up too many rules they always find reasons not to follow them. Keep things simple so people can make correct decisions.
Too heavy for a Jazzfanz poll?? I don't care its a principle.

I don't even like trade value. Because you end up punishing guys like Marvin Williams who is way better for us than other players. But because he is overpaid we downgrade him as a player. Should be who is the most valuable player to our team. Contracts not included. But that is my opinion.

Mo.. you are the weakest link. You just feel.. slimy.
Hey, I'm not slimy! And you're a roach, so you crawl around in filth and ^%$& all the time.

I hope Marvin Williams has a good year and proves to be the answer as our 3rd wing. I'd love to see Burks at SG, Marvin at SF and Hayward as the swing man. That would be a pretty good wing rotation. But since we already have a couple of players that can start in Gordon and Alec, Marvin is my selection to go.

Do you realize how pricey rookie contracts are for the top rookies?

https://www.spotrac.com/nba/utah-jazz/enes-kanter/
This year: $4.3 mill
Next year: $4.5
then: $5.7
then: $7.4

That's a lot of money for someone who may or may not be good enough to be a starter.

First of all, that's not alot of money for a rotation guy. I think Kanter is a starter eventually, but even as a rotation guy that's not a bad contract.

Secondly, what else would we use the money for? Definetely wouldn't be able to use the money to sign someone with as much upside as Kanter.

I dunno guyz. I got a good feel in about Mo going into this season. I'm certainly excited to see both Willz here, but something about Mo specifically makes me feel vibes that he might be here for the long run.

I think people underrate Mo's pg skills. Look where he's been. Mo did a good job with the Bucks then played with Labron. Let's face it, he wasn't asked to handle the ball with James on the team much like Jordans Bulls never had a true pg. In LA Mo played out of position as sg. It seems like it's been a while since he's played pg, so people naturally think he can't be a playmaker. I remember watching him as a rookie, and thinking we had a stud for the next ten years at pg. I can still remember how upset I was when we didn't match the Bucks offer for him.

I agree. It's imparative that we find a young pg to learn for a few years, then finish as a gunner for the jazz. Mo would bridge the gap at pg nicely.
