What's new

What an embarrassing night for all Jazz fans (4/14/14). Tank crowd can suck a fat one. (LONG)

That time I realized I was conversating with a crazy person...

Care to articulate what your difference is with those statements? Or perhaps I can clarify something I've said that is currently baffling to you. Or are you only interested in tossing out worthless quips to someone who would like to engage in thoughtful basketball discussion?

I got your winnig Culture right here....

Ha - that's a little fallacious. Spurs won titles due in large part to Manu, a slew of complementary players who could guard and hit shots and a masterful coach as well.

Definitely the second thing.

Almost 29,000 posts worth of the second thing tbh

Of course you need a 'superstar' and talent, but the Jazz have a few studs in the making and a few really freaking good role players in the making. My point was we were gonna be lotto most likely, and in this draft, I don't see much of a difference between 2-14. Jabari has a chance to be really special... But he could also turn into Billy Owens. Burke getting first-hand experience this year winning at least 10-15 more games is more beneficial to the Jazz in the big picture than the difference between Julius Randle and whoever gets picked 10-14.

Instead of putting a No Soliciting sign on your door, you could just print this out and tape it over the door bell.

Solicitors be like, "oh heelllll no I ain't talkin to this fool."

If you don't have a player who is a top 5 NBA player you have basically zero chance of winning a title. Who on this team will be a top 5 player in the league?

If you don't have one, you have to get one, and there's only one way to do it.

this year's West was crazy. about to have 8 teams with 50 wins. that's ridiculous. and we started so poorly early because Trey's injury. if trey didn't get hurt early we probably are 30 win team. and that's without a good coaching and all stars.

Which guys do you think are going to be top 5 NBA players in this draft, and what about their games leads you to think it?

sorta agree, but it can be done.

pistons won without the top 5 player. and they weren't 1 hit wonders. went to finals again lost to spurs in 7(they should've won that series) and were legit contenders for 6-7 years.

and this current spurs too. duncan & parker are legit ballers, but they aren't top 5. and they can easily win it all this year. should've won last year too.

but i do agree it's much easier to have top 5 player and build a team around him.

Started on a state title team and played DII for four years. I was hoping some members of Jazzfanz could talk basketball on a basketball message board. If you disagree that developing a winning culture is vital to building a title contender that is fair, but hopefully you can take some time to provide some reasoning as I have.

I can't delete all the other garbage you posted because I'm on my phone, but I don't care if you're Wilt ****ing Chamberlian, saying you don't see a diff between 2-14 makes you lose all credibility.

DII? I played baseball at a VERY high level. I wouldn't call myself an expert in what it takes to play MLB in 2014 though because I swung a bat in 1996.

And to anyone that hasn't already rep'd the dude that posted the Al Bundy photo, I hate you.

Tyrus Thomas and Adam Morrison were top 5 picks in the same draft. Aside from ESPN's hype machine - who in the draft are you so sold on that is such a can't miss piece to a championship puzzle that we should've tanked the whole season to have a chance to maybe be in position to take them (if the lotto worked out in our favor?)?

I'll be kind enough to answer your question, if you'll do mine.

I think out of the top 3 (Wiggins/Embiid/Parker) at least 2 will turn into cornerstones for a franchise. I also think out of the rest there are likely to be 2-3 more who will be all-star level. I think it will be a very good draft. Am I certain of it? Nope. GM's get fired on a regular basis because there are no guarantees. You seem to know it all though based of playing in gyms in front of parents of players and maybe an aunt or girl friend or two.

Now me. Do you know more about basketball at the NBA level than Dennis Lindsay? What about Danny Ainge? Simple question.

you gotta play the odds. top 5 picks have better chance to be the next all star than 10-15. yes, there are busts everywhere. i guarantee there will be a bust or two in this year's top 10.

but just look at the past draft history. it's better to pick top 5 than 10-15. unlike football or baseball, basketball talent is much easier to scout too

You seem to have displayed the reading comprehension level of a toddler, as I conveyed little of what you assert. I've said from the start I was fine with missing the playoffs this year based on our roster. DL working under handcuff of Greg Miller (too cheap to buy out Corbin and hire a real coach while Ty was still on contract), and DA got his coach - their roster even worse than Jazz talent-wise. Of course I have the confidence DL can put together a contender through the draft and free agency. He's going to, hopefully, get to hand pick his next head coach.

Jazz and Celts are completely different situations, and not really comparable. Celts are totally rebuilding their foundation/roster, whereas the Jazz have the foundation in place. The Jazz had the foundation in place heading into this season. That's where my issue is. The rebuilding process was halted for a full season on account of Miller refusing to pony up and remove that lameduck, ****sack coach of ours.
