What Free Agents Do You Like?

Ariza can't shoot, is a step down on both ends from Marvin, and would cost more to get. He'd go back to looking like trash outside Washington's playground bball.

Al Farouq Aminu !!

21.3% Dreb %

hes only 23 and i think there's plenty of risk reward on a modest contract for him, His defense is good vs teams best wing player, not elite, but better than serviceable.

hes also a decent passer and can rebound and dribble the ball up the court quickly, cut down his turnovers this year

also hes grown in the league, im pretty sure hes underlisted in size, and bigger or comprable sized frame with favors

hes also played in basically every game during his 4 year career

Bosh and Pau are overkill here, and probably overrated at this stage of their careers.
If the Jazz had any shot at Bosh (they don't), they'd be stupid not to sign him. He's anything but overrated. He's played a lesser role on a team with two better scorers, but he'd instantly be the best option on the Jazz. Dude was fantastic scoring and drawing fouls facing up in Toronto, and has the touch to spread the floor nicely. Would be an absolute no-brainer.

And he's one of the worst shooters in the league. As a 4th/5th wing, maybe, but I'd rather the Jazz add some shooting.

not a good shooter but Aminu was fairly reliable from the line( had a dip in FT% this year), and shot 35.4% on 31 corner 3 attempts last season

I don't dismiss Toronto Bosh. But, Bosh is 30 now, and hasn't been the man for awhile now. How do you know he still has it? Is his lesser role masking some decline? He will want to be paid like the man, and how many years does he have left in him?

Bosh and Pau would be short lived improvements that would wreck our books. Favors, Kanter, and Gobert trio have a lot of promise IMO, and we'd have to break that up to bring Bosh or Pau on. No thanks.

If were a piece away from contending, then I'd be about it. Both are seasoned. As is, I don't see the value.

Livingston would not be a back-up for the Jazz. He'd start at the two and maybe be the best option on offense.

BS.

Burks and hayward should both start over livingston..... they are both better players and both are younger with more potential to improve.

As far as the best option part of your post.
Burks, hayward, and kanter are all better scoring options than livingston

Livingston is a better playmaking option than any of those guys. By far the best isolation player the Jazz would have on their team.

I don't think Burks is better than Livingston, and Hayward is worse at creating offense. Lineup would probably be Burke, Livingston, Hayward, Kanter, Favors. Burks would still be 6th man - a role that suits him imo

Lol.

Burks is way better at isolation plays.

Maybe livingston would be our best playmaker (passer) but if so it wouldnt be by much. Hayward is quite a good passer and i have faith that burks will be (otherwise why did we move up to draft him)

Its laughable to say that livingston is better than burks in isolation..... that is burks forte, that is what he does at an elite level.
I guess you probably didnt get to see burks play much cause of where you live but the second half of last season burks had somewhat of a breakout as a scorer..... especially at blowing by his defender, abusing the help defense and getting to the rim for a bucket or free throws

I'm not going to argue that Livingston is a better isolation scorer than Burks because he's not, but with his ability to pass he's a better isolation player. Burks will be an important guy as the 6th man creating much of the offense in that role. Maybe you should have seen Livingston play...

WTH? Burks is a better shooter (Burks 35% 3pt, Livingston a dismal 16%), a better scorer, better at getting to the line. They are nearly identical at rebounding and assists. Livingson's PER is 14, Burks is 16. All that and Burks is just 22, Livingston is 28.

Burks is definitely better than Livingston, and younger.

I just looked it up and burks played 2 more minutes per game.
Burks averaged 14 pts. Livingston 8.

Burks averaged 3.3 rebounds. Livingston 3.2

Burks averaged 2.7 assists. Livingston 3.2

Burks shot 48 percent from 2. Livingston 48 percent.

Burks shot 35 percent from 3 on 1.8 attempts per game. Livingston shot 16 percent from 3 on 0.1 attempts per game (he had zero 3 pt attempts in his 49 game season the previous year)

Burks has missed like 2 games due to injury in his career. Livingston? Lol

Burks is 22 years old
Livingston is 28 years old

Just some food for thought
