What Free Agents Do You Like?

I always like Bledsoe's game but consistency playing without injury is question mark. Deng is perfect fit for the jazz not as a player but character wise. Rebounding, defending, hustling, dribbling, a lil bit playing PF all advantages of him. Ariza is cool name too but he will be refreshing his contract with wizards.

Holy ****. This is HILLARIOUS. Why the heck are you guys comparing Burks and Livingston?

Ones a PG and the other is a SG.

Lol. Give me both. I'll find a way to get a SG and a PG minutes on this team.

Lol.

Why hilarious, why lol? Both are basketball players, right.

It's not a problem, imo, if you compare even apples and oranges as fruits, you can like one over the other and you can compare their tastes. Just be careful and don't expect the same taste and same qualities from the both.

I agree on this though, they can both have a place on the Jazz team and I'd like to have them at the same time on the roster.

Is this something like "Give me Liberty or give me Death!"... hilarious guys, what are you talking about, give me both!

I'm not a fan of investing big money in Livingston or Bledsoe for the same reason I didn't like getting Rush in the trade last year. Injuries can sometimes get you a good player at a discount, but I'd never pay full price for a player with an injury history like the three aforementioned players.

I'd be very happy with either Deng or Ariza and wouldn't mind paying market price to get them. I wouldn't overpay for either. It'll depend on who they hire as the coach before I want to invest too much into any free agents.

Gobert, Favors, Kanter, Deng/Ariza, Williams, Hayward, Burks, Burk, Neto and a couple new draft picks is a substantial upgrade over last year's roster. That's a pretty cheap roster for the time being. See how the top rookie develops and hope they force their way into the starting lineup sooner as opposed to later.

You aren't gonna get Deng to come to Utah for "market price." The dude is 29... it's time to win now.

Fair enough. Hire the coach first. If they decide to go after Deng, see what the market bears and then make sure to offer the most, but not up to ridiculous levels. All things considered, if things are equal - there's no way he picks Utah. . . but add more money or an extra year and it might be enough to convince him.

I really think he'd be a great fit. If they don't burn their cap space to take back salary in a trade, I definitely hope they pursue Deng.

Lowry: Well known for his issues. Not a good locker room guy. Personally, I don't like his style as well.
Shaun Livingston: A great backup combo-guard for us. I'll be glad to see him play for Jazz.
Jimmer: Tired of this Jimmer Love here. 10 min player at best. Defense: Ahahahhahah Shot selection: Near BS. Athleticism: Can he even dunk? Oh wait, I've watched his MONSTER DUNK video about 3 years ago. It was a basic one hander.
Luol Deng: Class person. Quality player. A "leader"... Unfortunately It's almost impossible to get him.

University entrance exam is two weeks away.
If Bledsoe signs with the Jazz in this off season I won't go to university/college.
Simple. Clear.

Trevor Ariza should be Plan A.

Get him at all cost, try to trade Burks if you don't think you can afford him.

*Disclaimer*

I don't dislike Burks, just like Ariza/Hayward way better.

a lot has to do with who we draft

grevious Vasquez
Jimmer fredette
luol deng
Trevor ariza
Evan turner
Danny granger
Marvin Williams
patric mills
Patrick Patterson
Ed Davis
al-faruoq aminu
jarryd bayless

why? as a 3rd maybe second pg for the league min. 40+% from 3 pt range. worst case he will help with spacing. now why does that lose credibility?

Because it's Utah and as a group, we tend to favor extremes when it comes to Jimmer. He can shoot, but he's got no defense. Shooting (especially from behind the arc) is something that the Jazz need.

If he's cheap (and I can't see him getting a huge contract as of right now) then he'd be a sound investment as an offensive spark off the bench and for spacing purposes.

The problem is that most Utah college fans (both Cougar and Ute fans) are worried that the attention paid to him wouldn't be proportional to his value and place on the team. As much as Utah can be, it would be a circus. I personally think that's a bunch of crap, but for others it's a legitimate concern.

The Jazz should be looking to upgrade as many positions as possible. Depending on how he falls into the rotation, Jimmer provides an upgrade and a reasonable price. I'd be fine with it.

It's a Risk:

Michael Beasley: has produced in limited minutes for the Heat this year. Contract would be cheap. Is still only 25. Have to be sure the shenanigans are in the past. Huge risk. Big reward.

Dis guy ain't no big reward

To be honest, I'm hoping that they package cap space and draft picks to move up for another top draft prospect this year, but if they do decide to go after a free agent, I hope it's for a starting small forward.

Luol Deng, Trevor Ariza and Evan Turner - in that order. If they have the room, I'm fine with them bringing back Marvin Williams for a reasonable cost to split time at the 3/4 positions off the bench as well. I just don't want them to keep adding middle of the road vets who keep the young guys on the bench, but don't move the team forward. Time to commit to they young guys and let them play for good or bad.

Kent Bazemore
Looking at his overrall stats it doesn't look great because his low minute totals.
But he started 15 games and played 28 minutes per game during that stretch with the Lakers.
Averaging 13 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Shooting 37% from the 3
He turns 25 next month.
His per 36 while on the Lakers.............
16.9 points per game, 4 assists and 4 rebounds with 1.7 steals per game. Shooting 45% from the field and 37% from 3
Tell me again why Hayward deserves 10 million a year or more???

I think Utah might sign some minor free agents, but otherwise will continue in asset acquiring and rebuilding mode and try to make a bigger splash in free agency next year when there are a lot better and bigger names available. Look for Utah to be another trade partner for contending teams.

As far as a PG I'd look at Hinrich or Andre Miller (is he a FA?). As far as wings, I may look at Evan Turner. I like Deng, but until we get a legit guy who is our go-to, then I'd find the act of pursuing high-priced accessories as fruitless. For bigs, I wouldn't mind Elton Brand or Aaron Gray.

Bottom line: we won't be hitting any home-runs in free agency. I think, mostly, we need a couple guys who can come in and play their role strong and have legit veteran experience (Andre Miller, Elton Brand). I don't think we need more inexperienced guys with possible upside. However, I'd be willing to bite on a couple guys who may be worth the risk (Evan Turner, Jimmer).

If we're looking for a scorer, we'll have to make a trade, though I don't know what we'll trade. Or trade down/up for McDermott.

Wasn't this said last year....?

If the Jazz plan to re-sign Hayward, Burks and Kanter, hold the #5 this year, and sign what is likely to be a top-10 pick next year, they probably won't have that much cap space next summer.
