......from the box score it didn't look like he had too bad of a game.....but I did notice the two turnovers to go with the 8 points he scored. This series is far from over. The Pacers are still very capable of winning another game in Miami! Even if they don't, they won't lose game 6 back in Indiana for sure!

....funny how they call shuffling the feet on those white guys....but overlook the major traveling on the hoppers along with the "crab move" of James and the flagrant palming of Wade!

Palming in the NBA is a bigger problem then flopping. Every player does it and it is blatantly obvious. Stern needs to get that handled.
I disagree, I think the superstars guards/SFs tend to palm the ball more and get away with it than the "average" NBA player. Chris Paul palms the ball all the time. So does Rose and Wade and Kobe (as someone mentioned earlier).
Can you imagine how much Derrick Rose would lose on his crossover if he wasn't allowed to palm the ball?
It's harder to call because of the speed of the players. Some of the flopping is so obvious, and it's done on purpose and by repeat offenders. Needs to be dealt with by handing out fines by people who review tape.
I would argue the Heats & OKC get away with wayyyy too many of those "drive to the basket" fouls.
Let them play I'd say.
Totally man, David Stern and the refs are really pushing for the small market Spurs to make it to the Finals with the type of ratings they bring in.

I was talking about the refs. We can see what they do, even though we can only guess at why they do what they do.

I retorted with that sarcastic remark because I don't agree with you to begin with. No, we don't see overt favoritism for the Spurs in these games. In fact, in Spurs-Clippers games 3 and 4, I thought there was far more favoritism for the Clippers in key moments of the game.
Late in game 3, the Clippers greatly benefited from 2 blatant lane violations that were no-calls even though Popovich was screaming at the refs after the 1st violation (and the TV announcers even agreed that they were blatant missed calls).
In game 4, Chris Paul's "horse shot" off the top of the backboard into the basket, there wasn't a foul there, and yet he got the whistle at a critical moment putting the Clippers up 1 with 2 minutes to go.
How on earth can you watch a disgustingly reffed performance like Lakers-OKC game 3 where Kobe received 4 free throws because Harden was in his vicinity (and Lakers received 42 FTA overall, although the number itself says nothing about whether a game is reffed fairly or not) and complain about the Spurs for reffing. It makes no sense.
You're either flagrantly biased against the Spurs for some reason or another, or you're not watching the games.

My explanation:
(a) I do not believe that the refs are told by Stern or the league to favor teams, with very few exceptions, if any.
(b) I do believe that Stern does want small market teams to be competitive, because it is good for the league.
(c) I do not believe that the Spurs are really a small market team. They are in a big state, they have a well known reputation and history and following, and they have the bonus of an international draw with 5 or 6 foreign players including 2 or 3 stars, from 4 continents.

I just noticed this.
You have given 3-4 instances where you think that the Spurs got the short end of the stick.
In this 4 game series, one might find 100 instances where the refs missed a call or favored one team over another.
4 instances is really nothing.
Furthermore, lane violations are often ignored, and i have seen Pops blow up over correct calls on occasion, he is doing it to work the refs and get more calls, which the Spurs team is very good at.
I think the Spurs flop a lot , submarine people to draw offensives, and get away with more contact on D and O than most teams. I am sure I was noticing things of this nature when I made my comments.
As far as the Laker OKC game is concerned , I agree that the refs could do better in many games, not just the ones involving the Spurs or Clippers. I will try to stay on top of this better in the future.
