How about when a top 5 coach in the business wants to be your coach, and you delay on making him your coach you lose out.
This is kind of how I viewed it. Jerry would never ask for, or expect, any preferential treatment. But the guy is a hall of famer (and deservedly so), and this is the freaking Bobcats we're talking about. I could see if you're the Lakers or the Celtics why you'd take your time even with a hall of famer wanting to come there. However, if your the Bobcats, you can interview a hall of famer along with other candidates, but you probably shouldn't string a Jerry Sloan along.
