Why doesn't anybody talk about Aldridge or Love?

I came very close to negging the **** out of this. So sick and tired of this crazy stupid rumor that Favers is soft or that he doesn't give 100% every night. U can't be one of the best defenders at ur position if ur soft. Just because being soft spoken and not having an ounce of diva doesn't mean he doesn't play hard and give his all every game.

It's sad and mother ****ing pathetic that many on jazzfanz think this while Favors played next to a guy for years no longer on this team that admitted he didn't always give his best to this team and u have the audacity to say he's soft? Rediculus!
I agree with log fwiw. Favors has grown into a nice, steady and reliable two-way player. He rarely imposes his will, however, and it's pretty fun to watch the couple games a year he gets angry and physical (especially on the offensive end).

Jefferson never turns over the ball. He's going to have better numbers than many people who are more efficient. Jefferson had a better a/t ratio this year than Gordon Hayward, but a worse a/t than Trey Burke. Favors isn't even close.

I think you want to use assist%.

Jefferson and Aldridge do rate similarly, though, especially comparing Aldridge's year with Jefferson's last in Utah. Jefferson's inability to get to the line gives Aldridge an advantage overall in efficiency, however.

No it doesn't. It makes up for his poor outside shooting.

Do you really watch Aldridge enough to have such a strong opinion of his play, especially on the defensive end? Outside of true shooting - which will always undervalue players used almost exclusively as halfcourt scorers, especially those used in short shot clocks - the dude ranks pretty well in a number of popular "advanced" stats, including measures of rim protection, defense against PnR roll men, and adjusted plus/minus. What gives?

I'm not sure he's a good fit on the Jazz, but LMA is a very good player.

Did you forget to take your prozac? I heard you can make up for missing a dose if you just take the whole bottle at once. You oughta try that.

So where did I say he wasn't giving full effort? Where did I say he was soft? No one has ever said those words except you in this supreme stinker of a post, even for you, and that's saying something.

I think Favors gives it his all the vast majority of the time. He has toughness, there is no denying that. But there is more than one kind of toughness. Like tensile vs compressive strength. Favors has all kinds of toughness that lets him play through tough times, give it his all, and be a solid contributor. But he lacks the kind of strength that superstars at his position possess. The kind that says you can have this ball when I give it to you after I smash it through your skull. I think Favors could add another dimension if he got pissed off once in a while. For his size, athletic ability, and skill set he should be taking over games on the regular. There is nothing stopping this guy from scoring 25 per game and ripping down 15 boards, except himself. As it is he is pretty up and down. 25 and 12 then 14 and 6, then back to 20 and 11 then back to 14 and 5. The few games when he does play with real attitude he is miles above the rest. The Favors we have is a borderline all-star/solid starter and contributor. The Favors with attitude is borderline GOAT at his position. Which do you want?

And no, adding a 3 isn't what he needs to do. We don't need him to be the magical and mythical "stretch 4" we keep hearing about. He needs to become dominant on the low post first. Camp Gobert at the top of the key to sweep in and clean up any misses after Favors completely abuses whatever luckless sap is sent to try to stop him. That's what I want to see. Instead of Mr. Nice Guy I want Mr. Here Watch Your Own Beating Heart While I Slam Down This Poster In Your Face.
