I stand corrected and now see that qsh knew what he was talking about.

The kid has played just over 5000 minutes in the NBA and not even 1000 under Quin. How about just giving them some time to see if they can make him a positive part of the team?

I think Kanter will continue to improve over the next couple seasons. The question is if we are willing to pay the amount he is going to get in free agency to see how much growth that is. I think other teams are willing to gamble on him and hope he hits his ceiling. Kanter could be a main offensive threat on a team if he hits his potential, and I think a couple teams in the NBA are willing to take a gamble on that since they might not have as many assets as the Jazz do. Kanter also might be a bench player that is inconsistent the rest of his career. If the latter happens and the Jazz match on a big contract it will really hurt this franchise in a few years when we have other players who might need big contracts like Gobert. If for some reason Kanter does not get much attention as a FA and we can sign him for a reasonable price great but if he gets offered a big contract we cannot match that and then we lost him for nothing. Kanter is a big gamble for the Jazz and the team might regret whatever decision they make. But if Jazz get a decent offer for him before the trade deadline I think the best bet would be to trade him. All the trades getting nothing or crap back though are pointless. If we cant get a good trade for him, give him the rest of the season to develop and see what he is at the end of the season then make your decision.

That's the key. I also think there are a few teams who see Kanter as a potential bargain, and even if wrong, wouldn't be hurt that much if he doesn't develop significantly over the next 4 years. If I were Philadelphia, for example, I'd try to draft Mudiay and then make a big offer to Enes. There are reports Embiid has gained nearly 50 lbs and is skipping workouts. They're so far under the salary floor that paying Enes $13-15M costs them absolutely nothing.

If I were DL, I'd call a meeting with Enes, his agent and Quin. Tell them you absolutely do NOT want to hurt Enes' value in a contract year and still have faith in him. However, you want him coming off the bench so he can be the #1 option and build his stats back up. It's a good lie and they might believe it. Then the Jazz have 3 weeks to see if they get a decent offer before the trade deadline and half the season to evaluate Kanter as a 6th man. Even if they end up losing him for nothing by not matching, they'll have cap space and will have seen if he can/cannot be an integral part of the team. It's better to walk away than be saddled by a bad contract. That contract may not hurt thme for 2 years, but it could definitely have consequences in years 3 and 4.

Rehab his trade value. It's obvious that he's pushing hard to try to keep up with Gobert. I'm fine if they keep him, but I'd rather see the Jazz increase his value and go after a stud wing to pair with Hayward. Kanter alone won't fetch that, but he could be a piece in a bigger trade. Have him play off the bench and make it so that most of his minutes are with Gobert as well. Rudy makes everyone look better and brings out some fire in Enes.

A package of Kanter, Burke (if necessary) and multiple draft picks should bring back a pretty solid player. Jazz can put together a package that's pretty comparable to what Houston gave for Harden. I think that if they're going to trade Kanter, they should go for the homerun deal, and swing for the fences.

I'm shocked 59% of the voters want this clown back next season. He doesn't play defense. He doesn't pass. He doesn't rebound particularly great anymore. He's not athletic. He's not long. He doesn't bring leadership. So someone please explain to me why we want him back? Because he can score buckets. Awesome. Let's just ignore all the other points, the eyeball test and what all the data tells us.

I could mayyybbeee be sold on the fact that we can secure him for ~Splitter money, on a three-year contract, and he might improve seeing as he's 22 or whatever.

Otherwise, sheesh. He even sucks on the bench.

What`s the rush? We`re not gonna be competing for anything for a while and letting Kanter have another season to see if Quin can coach some sense into him is imo a pretty good idea. What`s the worst that could happen? That we lose a game or two extra?

Another season? He's a RFA at the end of THIS season. So yeah, we have three months to see what this joker has. I'm not sure why it would look any different than what we've seen in about three years though.

We didn't all hate him before this year. Quite the contrary

Hope is a good thing. Maybe the best of things.

At some point though, all hope is lost. That time's come this year.
I guess so. I'm still hoping that quin can work some magic and that enes has been in a slump. He had a really good stretch this year and had looked really good quite often in his first three years

Sheesh. Two weeks ago everyone was high on Kanter. People even talked about he had miraculously become a good defender. I know you hate him NOW, but Im sure you guys will make up.

But no seriously, Kanter as a third big, being paid 3rd big money, would be wonderful. There is no point in letting him go for nothing, and there is no point in signing him to an untradable contract. Otherwise, keep him.

What's 3rd big money to you?

I'd rather our 3rd big compliment Favors and Gobert better, like a Terrence Jones type. Someone who can come off teh bench and give energy and can shoot and can play within an offense.

No one wants a no defense playing, no passing back, streaky shooting *** big for 10 million a year.
I think his shooting will get there..... probably not his defense or passing though.
So he would basically be a 22 or 23 year old big al. There is a market and value for a young big al imo

Boys ,Kanter is going to get an offer that will make Cys Eyeballs popout. The Jazz wont want to match,CY and the haters will be happy with him gone, until they seem him blossom on another team and swear they never had a bad thing to say about the kid.

He isn't close to being as good as Al. Not even 1/4th of what Big Al is, and I don't even like Big Al.

He is a poor man's Big Al combined with a poor man's Boozer. Two players who you don't want to be the ****ty version of.
