What's new

With the 5th pick the Utah Jazz select Noah Vonleh

That's the clincher for me. Randle & Vonleh are very close, but I just don't want another Bosh clone. He would never have won all those titles if it wasn't for DWade and LeBron. He is at best the 3rd option on that team. He doesn't lead. He's very passive.

This young team of ours is ready to burst - and we need someone like Randle to really crank it up and play CRAZY play MAD.

We got the #5 pick, can't expect some hidden Lebron to be there at #5. If you think Vonleh is Bosh you take him. He was a prime 22/10/1 player with near elite TS%. He had to play a lot of center in Toronto because Bargs was a 7' girl otherwise might have made some deep playoff runs there.

I'm totally not down with this pick. He seems like a lot of work in progress and is not a immediate help to the team. Your typical big man softie.

Typical bigman softie? he's got 40lbs on Nerlens Noel, and also grabbed rebounds at a better rate than Julius Randle. Work in progress, yes, but all of these picks are tbh.

If needed he could give you 20-25minutes next year though hes likley to get less on the Jazz, he can play next to Rudy or Evans off the bench, he fits next to Kanter or Favors imo. as fas as contributions hes definitely ready to rebound in the league from day 1, its by far his most translatable skill, id say hes elite, he rebounds in and out of his zone and just has a knack for getting his hands on everything

Like I said, we need someone that can help the team right away. Parker, Randle and Smart can all do that and are most nba ready. Those are the players I want on this jazz team cuz they have the competitive drive and all want to win.

He measures out better than he played last year. I saw him play at least 6 times and it's pretty hard to judge him. His team sucked and didn't have a rhythm to their game. He didn't have very many post moves and he didn't shoot much from outside. This will be a pick based on potential. He has huge hands, long arms, and looks the part. Some times potential picks BUST. See Shelden Williams and Thomas Robinson.

My biggest problem with Vonleh is that his team wasn't very good - they needed him to do more than 7 shots and 11 ppg, and he either couldn't or wasn't willing to do it. He definitely has the look of a combine hero and a workout warrior who disappears come gametime.

Guys like Vonleh tend to rise when the games end and the workouts begin.

Well his coach did get fired. I think that says something about how he used Vonleh.
