A highly underestimated aspect he brings is his edge. He's mentally tough and knows how to get under guys skin and take them off their game.

Regardless, even if Joe doesn't shoot as high of a % from 3 this year, I'd rather have his defense and playmaking skills than over similar players.

Also, don't know if anyone has noticed this, but Joe has ice water in his veins. His a unique player than can hit shots in a game where all his teammates are missing badly. This is a fact.

That's great he left around $7m on the table to stay with the Jazz. Dude is so important for this team both on and off the court.

I haven't read through this thread, so apologies if this is a common sentiment:

No way Joe signs this fast and for this amount without a clear sign that his homeboi is coming back, too. IMO. Time to feel legitimately optimistic for the first time.

I've been feeling more confident the last couple days. Currently I expect him to sign somewhat quickly after our meeting Monday and for lots of "Hayward never wanted to be anywhere else" type **** to come out.

But it may just be one of the highs on the roller coaster of emotions this offseason has been. Maybe tomorrow I'll be pessimistic.

At my current emotional state (lol) it would crush me if he left. Let me get pessimistic again before you announce it if you're leaving Hayward.

I think Hayward said get the pg sured up and get my wingman back and we will do this. I think we are in great shape. Ainge ****ting the bed instead of making a super team can't help.

Maybe but Rubio is Jingles' pal and from a basketball standpoint... Rudy. Why would he go to Orlando and he certainly doesn't want to go play backup to Doc's son. Still, I am more optimistic than I have been by far. A few days ago I would have put it at 75% GH leaves now I'd say 75% he stays.

Even JB and PG moving into the division may be a plus. GH will be given plenty of opportunities to prove that he and the team he leads is better than they are.
