What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

Ferner team
Humphries - Australia
Labissiere - Haiti
Murray - Canada
Mulder - Canada
Wynyard - New Zealand

'Murica team
Ulis - IL
Poythress - TN
Briscoe - NJ
Willis - KY
Hawkins - KY
Lee - CA

It's crazy how that happened, can you spill the beans on any other intl. prospects they've got on the radar?

Humphries will be there for 2 seasons minimum right? born in '98. In sort of the Dakari Johnson role?

I'm certain he will look drastically different in 2 years working with the strength and conditioning coaches.

I'll get back to you with who's on our radar.

So which team do you take of those two?

And, btw, I agree. Almost impossible to bet against Skal and Murray. Add in the experience and shooting of Mulder, size of Hump, and the brawn of Wynyard..

i hope Humphries made the right choice seriously. If Calipari is true to his word and will not do platoon stuff anymore his minutes may be limited. Then he should transfer ala Witjier.

We are not deep in the frontcourt.
Skal is a stud.
Lee is meh.
Poythress will likely have to play some 3 even though he sucks at it.

There's room for the hump.

True for this year, but what if he lands more big guys in 2016 class.

Well Humphries is from the 2016 class. he just showed up a year early, sort of like Maverick Rowan except he's 19.

Nevertheless, the big's currently targeted in 2016 are mostly closer to 6'10 than 7', sans Thon, who's much more of a PF/C tweener than pure C.

Thon looks like he's added some muscle in this latest footage. A very good sign.

He's got a sleight frame no matter what. I was starting to think he wasn't making much progress in that area.

I really think this is an interesting player for the Jazz, and an interesting case of SF/PF tweener-ism. 6'9 long-armed Memphis commit, Dedric Lawson. who's got guard skills and forward skills; euro steps in transition, he can pass, he can put the ball on the floor, he's a factor on the o-boards, I like his shooting, ability to run the floor, he's got plenty of finesse to his game. Definitely has the look of a 1st round pick in my eyes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNi6cFySCqc - highlights almost a yr old.

Josh Pastner will need him to be a major contributor from day 1 for Memphis to regain respectability this year. I was going to post Dedric in 2018. I thought about 2016 as a one and done, which isn't out of the question, He'd have to kill it though.

He's probably best suited as a face-up 4, and I think he's got a chance at really transforming his body to make that happen. I suspect he's grown a bit too since last measured. If he could handle playing SF, i'd like him even more, he's probably slightly bigger than Luol Deng. I'm not sure if Dedric has the lateral quicks to stay with wings on the perimeter though.

Once regarded as a top-20 player in 2016, not too long ago. Dedric re-classfied up a year to enter college the same year as his brother K.J. who's a slightly watered down version of Dedric. (The youngest bro Chandler Is probably the best prospect of the 3). He's now by most services a 4 star recruit somewhere in the 40's of c/o 2015. I just don't get that, and i'm calling BS.

If this kid's available when we pick, we have to take him. His upside is HUGE and with our coaching, he could develop into a stud.

hehe. That's Markelle Fultz with the ball, and Frank Jackson attempting to guard him...
