What's new

Dear Dennis

Exum is not a good basketball player right now but giving him away for a washed up vet would be absurd.

He has been playing a lot better as of late and most players coming off an ACL injury play much better post ASB.

Why did you not give Exum to Dallas for Deron and a draft pick? Hill is hurt; the Jazz need a quality backup.

Let's be honest here. Exum is not worth an extension and maybe not even in the NBA in two years. I know you personally cannot wait to cut him when his team option is up in 18-19, especially after you pay him $5 million next season to sit his *** right back on the end of the bench. That is valuable cap room next season, and, since you have a fetish for collecting second round draft picks like they are old coins or stamps, this was a great opportunity for you to turn your #4 pick bust into one of your precious hobby 2nd round draft pick "assets".

Prolly cause he can get De'Ron for free by convincing him to redeem himself, get back to winning ways in Utah, come back to live with his family, and earn more than he can with Bron Bron... while STILL keeping Exum. Ya Bodaget...

I think X is faster than parker

Parker appears quicker but Exum covers 5 of Parkers steps with 1 stride. I swear he is in the paint before defenders have a chance to react at times.

If we sign Hill can you think of a better prototype player to develop under him than Dante? I hope they spend the next 6 years together with Hill as a starter for the next 2 (maybe 3) then moving to back up PG. Dante will be 23-24 yrs old and would have benefited from 5 years of tutor-ledge from Quin and Hill... not to mention adding another 3 years of gym work to his body, his old man has a huge frame!

X gon giv it to ya!

Most shocking development - how the hell did OKC get Taj Gibson, Dougie Buckets and a 2nd for Cameron Payne and Anthony Morrow? What a deal for OKC. Taj can play and Doug can spread the floor. I hate it when I see a rival get to pull a trade like that.

I can see OKC overtaking us or LAC after that deal.

I agree with all of that.

Of course you can

My thought after yesterday:

Cleveland wanted Mack. Utah wanted Deron.

Utah didn't trade Mack to Cleveland so it looks like Cleveland will sign Deron.

Mack is cheaper than Deron.

Let's say Hill gets hurt for the playoffs and the Jazz get swept first round and Boston goes to the Eastern Conference Finals.

If you're Hayward, do you stay here, knowing the Jazz would rather save a couple million than pay for Deron, or do you go to Boston, who was just in the ECF's, has a top 3 pick and can add you?

Pretty easy decision if I'm Gordon.

It's actually cheaper to claim Deron and waive Mack.

I'm just going to go forward thinking he said he didn't want to come or Gordon said he didn't want him here... it's really the only thing that makes any sense.

Doesn't excuse us from trying to improve by making other deals but whatevs I guess.

?

You don't think OKC got substantially better by adding Taj Gibson? I'm not hating on the Jazz by saying our division rival got much better after a deadline trade.

Sunstantially? No.
Yes I think they improved but Taj Gibson and mcbuckets don't scare me.
Jazz > thunder

You're like a broken record with this "Jazz are cheapskates" thing. I think the organization probably DIDN'T want Deron, even though many fans did. What evidence do you have that they did want Deron?

If you go to any Boston Celtics' Message Board feel free to peruse the 1000+ threads on how Ainge hasn't done anything to get Isiah Thomas any help

Fans do complain for sure, but they aren't 30th in the league in salary and don't have some of the holes we do...

I kind of think this iteration of the Celtics is close to its ceiling and if they want to win championships it'd be a good idea to plan around Brown, Fultz/Ball, Smart (kind of), and the host of other picks and prospects they have. Being good now is kind of a bonus... not sure they should re-sign Bradley, IT to their next contracts when the time comes to do so.

That's alright. They will singing a different tune when they sign Hayward and add Fultz this summer.
