Pursue Kevin Love Around the Draft?

A report means nothing unless you hear it from Phil Jackson himself and even then take with A grain of salt because A lot of head games are played by people in charge. They always have an agenda.so a report means next to nothing basically so have fun finding fake news online

?QUOTE=LoPo;1428058]I just read a report that said NY is not interested in Love. I will try to find it.

My idea has Cleveland avoiding the luxury this year. By doing so, they avoid a tax bill that would be over $30 million. This trade saves them $40 million I believe. So they get assets, Hood, and save that money.

My Cle/NY idea would happen in the new cycle starting July 1. So Cleveland would be in the luxury penalty 2016 NOT 2017 but likely back again 2018 if they got Melo.

[You guys overrated gobert unless he can goaltend 3 point shots how does he help them win?? Gsw is a jumpshooting team and honest is a shot blocker but hard to block jumpers. I swear some of you have zero bball iqs

QUOTE=LoPo;1429180]Yep. If you switched out Love for Gobert, the Cavs are as good as the Warriors. Right now, they have to play like superheroes to win/finish a game. The only issue for the Cavs would be spacing if they played Gobert and Tristan together. But I'm sure they would just alternate those two.

Glad Cleveland doesn't have Gobert. I'm looking forward to many years here in Utah locking down the paint.
No ball movement during !omg stretches with kyrie running point. Needs to just let LeBron because kyrie keybstretch in 3rd twice brought up ball zero passes and shots missed. Then third possesion turns it over. That when game got out of control

QUOTE=David Stern;1429963]Lue is extremely lucky that he has LeBron and Kyrie, because the offense they run is terrible.
If LeBron can't win with Love, what makes you think the Jazz can get any more out of him?

Love is really a completely different player for the Cavs than he was for the wolves. This has everything to do with the role he has. He'd have a bigger offensive role in Utah, and especially if we lose Hayward. He'd also be playing next to the most dominant defensive big in the NBA.

Cavs only trade Love for Paul George or Jimmy Butler... may mean that Love is shipped to a third team though as both the Bulls and Pacers would rebuild.

I don't think he gets Butler, and only gets George because of the short contract.

I am not so interested in Love in a scenario where we re-sign Hayward and Hill.

However, if we lose those 2 players, I'll go on record that I believe we'll pull off a deal for one of these 3 players:

IT
Love
LMA

You could make an argument that Utah doesn't have the assets necessary, but I don't think it's out of the question. Just for example, I think a lot of teams will have a hard time convincing themselves to pay IT's next contract, which I think drops his value considerably.

Also, between Favors and Hood, we might find some takers to gamble on them getting healthy and taking the next step. Both those guys could be a lot better than they were last year.

The way I see it, the only reason to trade for love is if Hayward comes back. No reason to scavenge together a team that can't win a playoff series. If you add another near Hayward/Gobert's level you can start thinking about a conference final.

After what I have seen from Love and the Warriors this finals, I don't want him. Warriors will contend for a three peat. Summer 2019, the Warriors probably break up because they cant keep all 4.

We need to focus on a younger player who can evolve with the core. Honestly, I would trade Favors, both picks this year, the OKC pick next year and maybe other assets to get a player for the future. Maybe one of these:

Jabari Parker
Ben Simmons
Somebody we really covet in the draft
Somebody else i havent thought of

I think Jazz fans can't stomach a rebuild, but I really believe that IF Hayward leaves this is the best option. Bringing in mediocre or even good players to try to stay playoff competitive will just end with the Jazz losing Rudy. For the past 3-4 years the Jazz have constantly been a step behind where they should be because of grasping at immediate wins instead of taking a longer view when they were breaking up the post-Deron team.

I really hope they don't make a similar mistake if the worst happens and Hayward leaves.

I don't think that #24 and #30 give Hayward any more incentive to stay. I also dont think trading Favors means we are rebuilding.
