The team who is really going to want Hood is the team who cant attract big time free agents so they need that RFA tag.

Detroit makes the most sense, but they have their own cap issues.

But why are you giving up a first to get him when you have top pick of every UFA on the market?

They will probably just give up two 2nd rounders to get Tyreke Evans, who is better than Hood, then play the free agency game w/ the stars.

They don’t have their top pick... one of those FA has to pick them. Having Hood RFA rights is valuable. Sure they could pass on the trade possibly not make the playoffs and offer Hood in the summer but unless they get stupid we would match.

Once LBJ and PG pass up on philly what other top tier UFA they getting. They will be in the mix for KCP and Bradley no doubt but those guys may say no.

And not a lot to offer.

They have max space and Ben Simmons/Joel Embiid and are in a large TV market. They will have a large selection.

They have an offer that is about as good as what anyone else is going to offer, a young rookie contract who is talented but under-performing and a 2nd round throw in. No one is giving up a rookie contract playing beyond expectations for Hood.

I honestly think the only first rounder on the market for Hood is Cleveland's, but they are trying to do so many other things first.

If Stanley had one more year on his deal I’d be okay with that or if they put in Kennard... though I’m not a huge fan.

I'm not a huge Stanley fan either, but he is a guy who can play some 4 and he has talent. They arent going to throw in Kennard, thats just a ridiculous ask. Maybe they get desperate enough to do Kennard for Hood w/ no Johnson, but I even doubt that.

Hood isnt netting us some massive haul. It's going to be something very on the margins unless it's some blockbuster salary dump by the other team ala Clips/Detroit trade.

I meant they send Kennard we send Hood... not Kennard and Johnson.

I remember talking Stanley with you a while ago and you said he is already playing some 4 because he plays with a combo 4... something like that. I do generally believe that guys that are playing the 3 that should be playing the 4 can be utilized differently and it changes their outlook completely... I think his shooting is so bad that it won't move the needle.

I'd rather combine Hood with some cap relief for a first... that is a pretty reasonable ask in my mind. If not I'd just keep him.

this.

Nobody should crown Philly as a FA destination yet.

The thing I want most from this trade season is a 1st round pick for Hood. Hopefully not too deep in the 1st.

He ain't going anywhere, we over value him, no one else thinks as highly of him as we do. He will then walk away from us but as he walks away he will get badly injured. He will always be the walking wounded.

Rodney Hood (leg contusion) will not play against the Suns on Friday.
He has been working out, but this report adds he's still hobbled. It's fair to say he's not going to return until after the trade deadline, and several reports say he's on the trade block. With him out, it's been Royce O'Neale playing really well, which has capped Alec Burks from producing in fantasy. Feb 1 - 6:17 PM

On IR is where Hood will end up. No matter which organization he is with. I get they are probably holding him out due to the trade process, but this isn't instilling confidence in his health with anyone.
